Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I first encountered Sabrina Carpenter on Disney Channel from a very young age, and was immediately drawn to her strong and independent personality. With her character Maya, I had someone to look up to. She was someone that radiated confidence, so naturally, I was inspired to do the same myself. After the shows airing ended I lost sight of Sabrina. That was until her singing career interrupted with her hit song “Feather”. I have an immense appreciation for this song because I believe the meaning behind it can and has helped many young females. To me the song symbolizes how one feels after leaving behind a toxic relationship. Though you will have your hardships and tribulations, you will ultimately feel light as a feather in the end. This could also go for so many other situations in life. As time goes on you will find yourself healing and growing past tough situations. Recently, Sabrina has been living life beautifully. Gaining a new confidence, similar to the one she portrayed in “Girl Meets World”, she has released two new incredible songs. “Espresso” being the first release has earned the name of “song of the summer”, and now with “Please, please, please” quickly following Sabrina has been on a roll. I did also notice that the two songs are creatively connected. For at the end of one song the other starts playing, and vice versa. In “Please, please, please” Sabrina uses her real life boyfriend, Barry Keoghan, as her love interest in the music video. This is very interesting because of the meaning behind the song. In the lyrics she is explaining to Barry to not embarrass her, connecting back to her past relationship. Overall, Sabrina Carpenter has inspired me to find strength in myself.
