Hi! My name is Ava Remesch and I am a fun and creative person who is always willing to go above and beyond with everything I do. Some of my hobbies include painting, making crafts with my circuit, camping, and walking my three dogs. Although I am a spunky and energetic person, I know when to be serious and how to lead a group to achieving a goal! During my junior and senior year of high school, I earned the role of being captain for the softball team. This taught me how crucial it is for a team to have a strong and reliable leader to fall back on. I also was a member of various honor societies, which often involved large groups of my classmates. I learned to make my voice heard in situations where I could potentially become hidden in the crowd by speaking with board members and giving suggestions. I am eager to work and love taking on new opportunities and challenges!I have plans on pursing a degree in hospitality and a dream of mine is to own a wedding venue!

Sylvester Taylor "Invictus" Hospitality Scholarship
My name is Ava Remesch, and I am a current senior in high school with plans on attending college. Some of my hobbies include painting, going on walks, listening to music, and playing with my three boston terrier pups! I am the treasurer of the National Art Honor Society at my school, and I am also a member of the National Honor Society as well as the National Spanish Honor Society and Rho Kappa. I am also a four-year varsity softball athlete and a two-year captain of the team. Since I have experience as a leader, I know how to take charge and make things happen. I am interested in attending College of Charleston in South Carolina, but due to the little financial help I have received so far, my aspirations to go there may be unrealistic. If I am awarded this scholarship, it will help in giving me more financial assistance and overall support my dream of pursing a career in the hospitality industry!
Ever since I was a little girl my
Mom and I would watch shows on the TV together about planning weddings and the process that people had to go through to make the day happen. As I have grown up, I can now see myself pursuing that as my career. I have an artistic eye and I love adding my own personal creative flare to everything I do. I want to have my own wedding venue with many choices for the couple in order to make their day as personal and as memorable as possible.
Since having my own venue is a very large dream, in order to build my way up to that, I want to be able to provide people with the best service and positive experiences through hotels and restaurants. Exposing myself to these areas of work will prepare me well to provide the best service for all. I will leave a positive impact on the world by changing how people serve and showing how to give everyone they encounter a positive experience. Scholarships like this one will help me achieve these goals which is why I feel I am the right candidate to win!
