Bio

I was born April 23, 2002 in St. Petersburg, Florida. I'm a young published children’s author best known for the children’s book series titled “Mr. Tickety-Toc Clock”. As an infant, I was diagnosed with severe asthma, which forced me at times to be in and out of All Children’s Hospital. I started writing and drawing stories at a very young age. I published my first book at the age of eleven in April of 2014. I was an active volunteer of the South Branch Library and the Ronald McDonald House while also continuing to donate some proceeds from book signings to John Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in support of Asthma. In 2020, I launched #IMAGINE2020CHILDRENSTORIES, a campaign to help African-American authors during the rise of #BlackLivesMatter. I currently host a radio segment on Joy on Paper. I'm a recipient of the Citizenship Award in the Tampa Bay’s Mayor’s Youth Showcase of Achievement (2019) and in 2021 became a Sunshine Ambassador for St. Petersburg, Fl.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it caused businesses to suffer. In the same year of 2020, was the rise of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. During the movement, it prompted me to to watch the film, "The Hate U Give", as black movies were becoming available to watch free due to the movement. The movie was so good that I decided to read the book, which changed my life. When reading the book, it brought up stereotypes and issues that black individuals faced. Due to me being a children's author, I saw for myself to see that there were a lot issues within the publishing industry for black people. In the book, that was written by Angie Thomas, the main character, Starr Carter, was afraid to use her power to spark a change, and eventually did it to better her community. What I realized is due to me already being known in the community for being a children's author, I wanted to make a stand as well for the issues I discovered black individuals faced within the industry. This is a core aspect into me launching #IMAGINE2020CHILDRENSTORIES, a campaign to help indie and self-published African-American children's authors. What I did was collect $2020 and purchased books by those types of authors. From there, I decided to donate those books to local preschools and elementary schools. My goal for the campaign was due to all the black lives lost, these voices that hard to come by will be around to impact children for many years as they will be in the school's library. "The Hate U Give" inspired me to make an impact in my community, and because of it, it propelled me to further success.
