I feel like I deserve this scholarship because of the persistence and perseverance I demonstrated throughout my high school experience. Whether it be educational obstacles, social challenges, or the looming expectation of my family, I have always proven myself to persevere. And this perseverance illustrated through my highschool life will continue on to college. When faced with the overwhelming cost of tuition required for my dream institutions, I will work hard to take advantage of any resources enabling me to pursue my dreams. No matter how many scholarships I need to apply to, or how much time I need to invest in writing these essays, I will continue to work hard until my dreams are attainable. Throughout my whole life I have been struggling with my mental health, having multiple instances where I would wonder if my hard work would even be worth it, or how easy it would be to just give up. But every single time, I was able to bounce back and understand what truly is important– How I can improve myself. With every obstacle I've encountered, I am able to craft the best solution for myself. Bad grades?- Try using a different study method and seek assistance from my teachers. Unhealthy friendship?- Instead of being sad about it, spend that time investing into new friendships. Mom wants you to have a 4.0?- Explain to her how you’ve set your own expectations for yourself, and work together to decrease the pressure. Throughout every single one of these instances I was able to turn it into a way to learn, a way in which I can better my future. I can live my life crafting these solutions, maneuvering my way through even the most difficult situations. The biggest obstacle facing me now is college and scholarships are the best solution I have given my situation. Due to my ability to grow and make the best out of what I have, I feel like I deserve this scholarship. Not just for who I am now, but also who I can be in the future. Being able to receive this scholarship means that I can focus exclusively on my education and betterment of myself. Additionally, given everything that I’ve overcome, I am deserving of this scholarship. All the mountains of mental struggles, and ways in which I am able to climb them prove this. I will continue to work hard to overcome anything in order to achieve my dreams.
