For my whole life my parents put a huge emphasis on my grades and how important education was. I had always planned on going to college. COVID hit and what I thought college would be turned out not happening. Thankfully, we are coming away from that time and I am able to attend classes in person as I value the classroom experience. As a child, middle school age, I strived to be a Forensic Anthropologist like Dr. Brennan from the TV show Bones. I found out I was not the best at chemistry and my dreams were crushed. As I continued to think about my education I knew I wanted to change our Criminal Justice system. Then my life changed. My mom was an addict and had gone to prison. As I experienced her trials and her not so top-notch attorney, I knew I wanted to help people. People who weren't bad people, but were not getting a fair chance in court. Thinking about my future more I decided I wanted to help people break the cycle. I want to help juveniles change their life, be that light that fights for them and gives them a second chance at a "normal" life. My focus on school than became my number one priority. Not that it wasn't already, but now I had a solid plan for my future. I know that without an education, without putting everything I have into my education, I cannot make the difference I want to.
