Kalia D. Davis Memorial Scholarship
My name is Aubriana Beeler and I am an Undergraduate Student studying Design at Missouri State University. I finished my Associate of Arts degree from Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, MO in December 2024. I am very dedicated to my classes, and I have been on the deans list for every semester I’ve been in college, at both colleges I’ve attended. I have been a Resident Assistant in my dorm since January 2026. I’m currently studying to achieve a Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Illustration and Sequential Art. With my degree I hope to find a career in the arts to tell new stories that inspire others like I have been inspired by different media in the past. Whether it be a TV show, movie, video game, comic, or anything in between those or beyond, I want to be a part of something amazing that people will love someday. If I were to receive even one scholarship this year it would help me immensely to reach this dream quicker. My household consists of myself and 6 other people, two of which are the sole providers for everyone else in the family and our home. There simply isn’t any extra funds from them that can go towards my education. Because of this, I have had to rely heavily on student loans to pay for everything. With loans comes debt, and the less of it I have the better it will be for my own future and for my family. With my double major I will have to attend classes longer than I would have with only one major, so any assistance from scholarships would be a blessing to myself and my family alike. Ever since I was little I have always wanted to help people, I was always the first to raise my hand when my teachers needed help with something, and I loved helping my classmates too. In high school I helped tutor a freshman art class as well as tutoring middle school band students when they needed to learn pieces for their auditions. Now, I am a Resident Assistant, and I try my best to help students in my dorm every day! I plan on continuing my studies at Missouri State University and taking at least 15 credit hours each spring and fall semester until I finish my double major degree, and taking summer classes if any are available. As a Resident Assistant I look forward to connecting with and inspiring students, guiding them through their own journeys as well. I hope to make a positive impact on my peers through my responsibilities on campus. Once I graduate from Missouri State University I look forward to applying for jobs and seeking out projects I could be a part of. I will apply for internships and work that interests me. With my studies in Illustration and Sequential art, my dream is to become a concept artist. I love designing characters and brainstorming new ideas, as well as mapping out how a story might play out with storyboards. I would also love to make comics, short form or long form for people to follow along to enjoy. I also think it would be fun to illustrate books for children. I have many ideas for what I could do in my future, I just hope that at the very least I inspire others with my work.
Cash Ryder Lanspeary Art Scholarship
My name is Aubriana Beeler and I have chosen to draw a Tyrannosaurus Rex with markers as my medium! I used the Master's Touch brand of alcohol markers on white sketchbook paper. The T-Rex is one of my favorite dinosaurs because of its strong stance and powerful presence. It also reminds me of the T-Rex cafe, which was my favorite restaurant as a kid. It also makes me think of the third Ice Age movie! The T-Rex is a very widely known dinosaur, and maybe the one most people think of first when someone even mentions the word. When looking at images online they all look very similar color wise, so I wanted to explore with vibrant colors to bring a little more whimsy into my drawing, while trying to keep the recognizable silhouette of a T-Rex. I love to work with bright colors and I found this drawing to be so fun to make! I experimented with textures with application of the colors and the lines to try and bring out an energetic, alert feeling to the T-rex. I am an undergraduate student studying Illustration and Sequential Art at Missouri State University. During my childhood, my younger brother fought Leukemia, and I have seen how illnesses can affect not only the person fighting it, but also their family that supports them; that is a topic I have sought to explore within some of my other works. I hope that with my degree, I will be able to illustrate books or make comics that can bring awareness to childhood cancer, and the hardships that come with it. I hope that my work can connect with other people who have had cancer or people who have supported someone who did have it. I want people in this situation to know they are seen. I am very sorry for the loss of Cash, from the description of the scholarship it sounds like he was very passionate with his interests. I hope that my drawing in this submission is something that he would have liked. I think it is very amazing that your family is seeking to support other young artists through Cash's memory. I wish the best for you all. Thank you for considering my application.
Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I am such a big fan of Sabrina Carpenter. Her two latest albums are so wonderful and have gotten me through the last three semesters of college. I listen to her while I study and while I work on my class projects, her upbeat rhythms and beautiful melodies inspire me and my work. I am an artist myself, and I find a lot of inspiration through music. When I am drawing or painting, I will turn on music, and Sabrina Carpenter is one that I listen to quite often. Sabrina Carpenter's career is an inspiration and has given me hope. Seeing a young woman climb to the top of the charts at her age is something to look forward to. I hope I can find success in my career like she has. My favorite song by Sabrina Carpenter is Sugar Talking from her album Man's Best Friend. I feel that this track has such a calming energy behind it. To me, it feels like driving home at sunset in the summer, with the windows rolled down and the smell of the ocean. It is such a beautiful sound and was one that I had on repeat almost all semester. I have a dream of seeing one of her performances in person, but due to my financial situation I have not been able to. I hope that if I receive this scholarship to pay for my education, that I will be one step closer to seeing her live on stage.

Terry Masters Memorial Scholarship
The world every day inspires me as an artist. I like to observe my world and imagine it in a fantastical way. I think it is great to do studies when we paint, to observe things and paint them as they are, and then take that observation to make something new. Once I know techniques to make something that looks real, then I feel like I have the skills or motivation to make it my own. Music is something I have always loved, I love to listen to it and play it when I have the time. I have a record player that I love to listen to, music is a big inspiration to many of my personal works. I wanted to make a tribute to how I feel listening to music by painting a self portrait, a record player (that was manipulated with a fish eye lens) as well as artistic renders of vinyl records. I think taking real objects and translating them into a fantastical setting is so fun, I love to do things like this. This piece I have described is attached to my application, I hope you enjoy it!
Diane Amendt Memorial Scholarship for the Arts
In elementary school I was always attracted to the arts. My art teacher was in my life all the way back from kindergarten until 5th grade. She was very encouraging to her students, and came up with many fun activities, artworks, and lessons for her classes. My work wasn't always exactly what she was looking for, assignment wise, but she always helped me strive to be better at what I did. I grew up loving to color, draw, and create beautiful works. Without the influence of my elementary school art teacher, I'm not sure I would have gotten to where I am today. On the day of my 5th grade graduation, some of my teachers handed out personal awards and certificates to students. My art teacher, as her eyes welled with tears, announced my name. I was awarded a certificate of creativity. I felt so extremely seen in that moment and I knew then that I wanted to do something in the arts. I wanted to be an artist. Into middle and high school, I continued to draw, to perform, to play music, to act. I was interested in almost every creative activity I could reach. My aspirations changed from one to the next, until I started to focus on my illustrations and character drawings. I always felt connected to my art teachers and would ask for their critique on my work. I loved to share my art with them and they were always excited to see the new pieces I was making, and they gave me helpful advice as well. Today, I am seeking a BFA in design and I hope to affect others positively, just as my artist role models did when I was younger. I am seeking a double major in Illustration and Sequential art. I have a passion for telling stories through visuals. My dream is to become a character designer and concept artist, but I plan on pursuing more than that. I hope my work will be seen, whether it be commercial, indie, or something more personal. It wouldn't matter to me if a job is well paying, or done for free, I only hope to inspire others to dream big like I have found myself doing all of my life. If I am able to make even just one person have an emotional reaction to my work, I would be happy at that. And after all, what is the point in being an artist if you cannot instill that same passion into others?
