For me, writing is entering a secret door into a fantastic and magical world where everything is possible. To me, fantasy is where I conjure realms from simple whispers of ideas, where the sky is colored by shades that have never existed, and creatures dance in the spaces between thoughts. It pulls the strings of my heart, building dust-like stories with characters and landscapes that can only be imagined in the silent corners of your mind. What I love most about fantasy is how I get to take something that exists alone in the mind: just a flicker of inspiration-and give it form, life, and purpose. Almost like being God, only with less moral qualms and more fun.
World-building is more than just a pastime; it is part and parcel of my soul. Whether building cities encapsulated on clouds, creating a social system in which everything is quite the reverse to nature, or telling new histories of the forgotten lands, just imagining it feels like home before I begin. Each story is an invitation to leave the ordinary behind and enter the extraordinary. I just adore discovering where the imaginary and real things meet, weaving familiar threads of emotions and struggles into fantastic lands. These worlds may be otherworldly, yet heartbeat their stories in the rhythms of the human experience, love, loss, courage, and the ridiculous dream that no matter what, it could get better.
In college, I will weave those stories with even more care and attention. I want to sharpen my craft, explore new realms-real and imagined-while pushing myself to blend genres, break conventions, and to produce something entirely unique. I will seek inspiration not only from books, but also from conversations, art, history, and dreams, all of which ignite the flame of creativity within me. I will write every day, be it through journaling, short stories, or long projects, and I will surround myself with other like-minded folk who, too, aspire to write, share and dream.
I shall let my imagination bloom and elevate my craft to an even higher plane. And at the quiet hours when the world is trickling on around me and distractions beckon, I shall lift my pen, open my notebook, close my eyes, and delve into those worlds that await me to discover. After all, in the world of fantasy, the only limitations are the ones set by the dreamer’s mind who knows no bounds.

Growing up, I spent so much time in hospitals that I could have claimed paid residence there because I was either ill or accompanying someone who was. It seemed to be one place where I had been put through hell, yet from an unflinching vantage point, I became privy to a phenomenon often overlooked by the public. I would only later fathom how monumental a contribution nurses had towards patients and their families. In those moments of fear and uncertainty, nurses offered comfort, care, and hope. The noble work which they did and their commitment to patient's wellbeing instilled in me a passion that grew roomier by each year and made me desire a career in nursing. I would like to secure a BSN and train towards taking up a position as an ICU nurse in charge of patients in a critical state.
I often stayed in the hospital when I was young due to health complications. The anxiety of it all was soothed by witnessing the awesome care provided by nurses and other health professionals. I remember the reassuring smiles, soft voices, and friendly personalities of nurses as they checked my vitals, gave me my medications, or sat quietly with me to calm my nerves. Their ability to synthesize technical skill with empathy made a lasting impression on me. At a time when fear and uncertainty were spilling all over from my heart, they were my grounding presence. Witnessing them take care of patients, and me, during the most difficult moments ignited a passion in me that thereafter drove me to look to become a nurse.
As I have matured, my research on the nursing profession has opened my eyes to a field full of variety and profundity. I understood that nursing is not a career but rather a calling that demands commitment, perseverance, and unswerving dedication to the welfare of the suffering. While joining the ranks of emerging nurses, I am inspired by the lifelong learning aspect. Nursing is a quickly marching field; thus, nurses need to orient themselves to changing practices and standards in the industry. I look forward to the constant movement of learning and growth. With proper learning and training, I will be prepared to face the challenges of being an ICU nurse. I am willing to work tirelessly to ensure I provide high-quality care to my patients in the making, both physical and emotional.
The pursuit of a nursing degree is not just about gaining a license but about taking on an inherent purpose and responsibility I feel quite compelled to embrace. I look forward to being part of a profession capable of transforming lives. Be it to directly care for patients in the ICU or to offer solace to a grieving family; I am determined to carry hope, comfort, and healing to wherever I am needed. The cause resting on my shoulders is tremendous, yet my experiences prepare me fully for the task ahead. I care so passionately about the lives of patients and families, and that with a nursing degree, I would have that opportunity.
Most of all, I am passionate about my degree because I wish to help those who are in the same situation I was in when I was younger and spread that kindness to the future generations. I would like for someone, in the future, to feel the warmth and compassion that I was given when I was going through one of the most critical parts of my life and plant the seed of hope into someone else that they will be able to make it through whatever they’re going through, just as I was.
