Going to cosmetology school has been a dream of mine for years, but until now I was never able to pursue it. At this point in my life, I finally have the time and opportunity to follow that dream. I have a medical disability that has required me to step away from traditional employment, but it has also given me the chance to dedicate myself to schooling. I know that with a career in cosmetology, I will have the flexibility to create my own schedule and work in a way that accommodates my condition. Outside of cosmetology, I am passionate about swimming, doing crafts, and caring for my chickens. I grew up in the South as a military child before my family eventually moved up North. I am naturally introverted and enjoy spending time at home, but I have always been dedicated to learning and self-improvement. In elementary school, I was part of the Gifted and Talented program, and in high school, I graduated with honors. Throughout high school, I challenged myself both academically and through extracurricular activities. As a freshman, I was part of the Pep Squad, and by my sophomore year I earned the role of Sergeant Major, which was equivalent to co-captain. As a junior, I served as an athletic trainer for the freshman football team. My senior year, I became highly involved in student leadership, joining student council, serving as a class officer (Prom Chair), and participating in both NHS and NSHA. Alongside these activities, I also worked part-time starting in my sophomore year.
