Hello, I am Asia! I am currently in high school and plan to graduate in May 2024. I have taken multiple Advanced Placement (AP) and dual credit (DC) courses while taking pharmaceutical Career and Technical Education classes and prioritizing volunteering. So far, I have 114.5 hours of volunteering, 94 of which were earned through Key Club during my junior year. I enjoy volunteering because I want to positively help others, from monitoring children to setting up events. I hope to apply what I have learned from volunteering later in life. I plan to attend the University of Houston as a biology major. As a daughter of parents who were not born in the United States and did not attend university, postsecondary education is very important to me. I cannot ignore how hard my parents have worked to provide me and my sister with a comfortable life, including the education we needed. Their greatest wish is for us to get a good degree that would secure us a stable job. I intend to grant them their wish as it is the least I can do to repay their efforts. Seeking further education comes with a great financial burden, but having scholarships will help alleviate the costs.
