I hold a Bachelor of Science in Health, Leisure, and Exercise Science with a concentration in Physical Education and spent nine years as a teacher and coach. Throughout my career in education, I developed a strong interest in health, movement, and helping individuals reach their full potential. I am currently pursuing an Associate of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy Assistant studies, where I continue to build on my background in movement science and instruction through hands-on, client-centered care. My interest in occupational therapy grew from both my professional background in education and my exposure to rehabilitation settings, which highlighted the impact compassionate, functional care can have on daily life. During my program, I served as Treasurer of the Student Occupational Therapy Assistant (SOTA) Club and participated in community service projects, including assisting with the construction of an AMBUCS accessibility ramp. My professional goal is to become a licensed Occupational Therapy Assistant and continue my education by bridging to the University of Texas at Tyler to earn a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. I am passionate about supporting individuals in achieving greater independence, confidence, and quality of life through meaningful, functional engagement.
