For the past eight years I had worked in MedSurg/Tele. 2020-2021 was the final year I was on the floor, where I worked on a Covid unit and saw more sadness than I’ll ever be able to forget. At the start of this year I decided to transition to Aesthetics to seek an escape from my work-created depression. In doing so, I have rediscovered joy and now I seek to help others find confidence in their own skin.

Bold Meaning of Life Scholarship
A life without love isn’t worth living. We’ve heard that phrase countless times over the years, I choose to take a look at the phrase from a different angle.
As opposed to love being viewed as a facet of life, I view it as the foundation, of which there are many facets including life. Love is not always candlelit dinners, sunset walks on the beach, and stolen kisses in the rain. More often than not I see a very different kind of love.
My dog licking the tears from my cheeks as I come down from this week’s panic attack. The new admission coming through the doors already crashing, knowing from report that she is a 45 year old single mother of 2 so I spend the next 14 hours battling for her life. Fighting with my husband long into the night over some ridiculous misunderstanding because I refuse to go sleep angry.
In a different vein, we have those moments which remind us why love, and in turn the facets of love, are worth every bit of effort and energy we pour out.
My children slyly lifting up my warm blankets to snuggle as the sun comes up. Watching through the window as a neighbor walks fresh-made english muffins and fig jam a few doors down to a new family on the block. My husband wordlessly removing my shoes when I get home and rubbing my traumatized toes.
Every little thing, good and bad, is surrounded by love in some shape or form. Finding the love in all things is the true meaning of life.
