So far in my academic career I will receive my AA this spring of 2021 and graduate from the college I am attending. I have finished this accolade in less than a year from graduating high school in 2020. I plan on majoring in Political Science, and passing all my courses to keep my GPA really high. And then from graduating FIU I plan on going to law school and becoming a lawyer. I plan on studying really hard and taking the LSAT, I plan on at least aiming for the score of 165. Once I get into law school I plan on going over topics we will use in class such as history, English, philosophy, political science, economics. Once I get used to the coursework and studying method of law school. I will make a decision of what type of lawyer I want to practice in the legal world. I want to become a company or civil lawyer and practice them for as long as I can. The reason why I want to become a company lawyer is because there will always be a company that needs assistance in the legal world. And the reason I want to be a civil lawyer is because I want to help people that are wrongfully convicted and have a part in making a better tomorrow. The reason I chose this specific profession was because I was inspired by people such as Thurgood Marshall, John Adams, and Cicero. They give me hope that you can start from anywhere and come out on top in the legal world and possibly make a name for yourself throughout history. The profession will also teach you about the law of the land that you did not know. Some things you can learn that you did not know before and it can better instruct you on what to say or do in a serious situation. The legal profession would also give me a lot of connections to different pathways that could possibly come to the rescue in the future. I know that there is a lot of work to be done and sometimes it will be hard to keep up with it. But I'm naturally better at literature and history than I am with math and science. So if I go into the political science and law route I just might have more of an upperhand in the pathway of this career. Another factor of why I want to go into the legal field is because of my family. Most of everyone in my family is into the medical field or they are leaning towards business. I wanted to be different from my family and not follow in the regular path everyone in my family has done. You could say that I am basically the black sheep of my family when it comes to choosing which career you want to do. I guess in some way I want to prove to my family that going out of traditional roles is fine. Besides I have no interest in becoming a medical doctor or a registered nurse. If I did become a nurse or doctor I would have to deal with patients all the time, which might not be convenient. I also have no interest in being an economist or a tax auditor in the future. I would have to deal with a lot of numbers and math, and math is not my best subject in school.

A challenge by definition is a call to take part in a contest or competition, especially a duel. I want obstacles that I can hurdle over and even if I fall I can get up again and try again. It reminds me of when I was in high school I used to participate in track and field. My specific event was hurdling and I would go over eight barriers in the process of running my race around the track. And in the process of running, even though I may have hit the hurdle and stumbled, it matters how you finish and not how you started. The last factor is that I want to make my friends and family proud of me.

Bubba Wallace Live to Be Different Scholarship
Obstacles in our lives are a trivial thing that we all have to go through every single day. No matter what your race, religion, and age is, challenges and setbacks are there waiting for us all. It's there to see if we can endure the pain and get back up again to give it one more try. It pushes us to the limits and unknowingly gives us a reason to live. It's there to make us stronger and wiser as a person or destroy us as an individual. I never thought of hurdling as an event I would be able to execute successfully. A few days before my first track meet of the season my coach scheduled me to be in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles race. I am always obedient to what my coach says, so I followed the directions he had given me. My coach and my teammates were in great shock at what happened that afternoon. I know that I'm far away from becoming the best hurdler or receiving a D1 offer from some of the top schools. I was thrown into the 110H in one meet of my sophomore season running a time of 21.96. After that I wasn't put in the 110H until more than 1 year later in the middle of my junior year. I ended up running the fastest time for my school that year and dropping my time to 17.28. And two track meets later I went on to drop my time later that season to 15.92 and become one of the top junior hurdlers in the state of FL in 2019. I have become a good hurdler while not even running 1 full season length in this event. Concerning the 300H I had been thrown into it the last track meet of the regular season of my sophomore year. I ran a faster time than the best hurdler that year with a time of 44.93 for my first time running it. Going into my junior year I steadily decreased my time in the 300H almost every track meet. Ending the season with 41.93 and becoming one of the top junior hurdlers in the state of FL in 2019. I have a personal best in this event with a time of 41.77. I have also been awarded with a varsity letter the past 2 years in this event. I have pushed hard to get where I am even though my school's track program doesn't have hurdle training that's effective. My realization of what I am capable of, has made me a hard worker and has shown me that you never know if you are good at something until you try it out. This experience has given me a life lesson that tells me if I put my heart and mindset to anything in life I can overcome any challenge that rises up against me.
