This story happened to me at the beginning of this summer. I just got back in France from the American college I go to where I completed my junior year as a physics major. I was about to have a wonderful summer Haute-Savoie, the region of cheese where I live. I started my job as a bartender in my city and everything went well. I was working very hard, at least 50 hours a week and started to learn more about the job, the people and the place. I made friends with all my colleagues and a great vibe was emerging. I learned how to make cocktails, mocktails, serve drinks properly and even knowing more about what we call mixologie, the art of mixing drinks together to create pleasant cocktails.
As a young child, I always sleepwalked. Younger, I used to wake up in the middle of the night in the kitchen downstairs, or in the corridor. At first my parents didn't know how and why, but they quickly figured this out. This was actually funnier than scary since I always woke up in new places in the house, and sometimes would go back to bed without waking up. I could have conversations with my parents without remembering anything the next day. This was a great memory until this night of the 20th June 2022, where the funny experience turned into a tragic memory.
This very same night, I sleepwalked through my bedroom window and fell from the second floor, approximately 17 feet high. I woke up falling in the air and a moment later I hitted the ground and was in immense pain. This type of behavior is called in French "risky sleepwalkers' and is very rare but can happen. I tried to crawl to the main door because I was alone in the house (my parents were away for vacation) but I couldn’t move any of my feet, the pain was too intense. I started shouting for help at 1am, praying that the neighbor would hear me. Fortunately one did, climbed the gate and came. He called an ambulance and a doctor came. I was given morphine which helped a little bit, but I was still in pain. I was then brought to the hospital and taken care of. I was diagnosed with several fractures on the right heel and severely damaged the left one. Today I am in a wheelchair and will spend the rest of the summer in it, before starting rehabilitation later on in August. The first days were really painful and I couldn’t leave the bed. I am now feeling less pain and I can move using the wheelchair, but the pain is still here and there is still some work to do before I can walk again. However I am very motivated to start the rehabilitation and absolutely positive about the future. I believe this experience will make me more careful in the future.
These injuries put me in a situation where I am now unable to do my summer job. The money I would've made with it was supposed to cover a part of the tuition fees and I now using my time to progress in other fields. I am currently working on my Spanish, preparing for my fall semester by reading again my physics lessons and learning more about music culture, one of my passions. I hope this scholarship will help me to cover the income I wasn’t able to make this summer, because I really enjoy going to school and I plan to further my studies to a master's degree!

Hello,
The link below refers to a video I made with my friend for a school project (I would like to precise that we live in France).
We were supposed to make a video about cowboys, and present it to the class. We would be graded on our presentation, originality, and coherence of our video. We didn't respected the 2 minutes format but the teachers had such a great time watching it that we got the best grade of the class: a 20/20! We had a really fun time learning how to ride a horse, making a script, recording and editing everything. Basically we wanted to do an horor version where Archibald succeeded in his quest to become a cowboy and start being the bad guy who robs banks and the instructor would stop it, but it was not really appropriate to the exercise so we played it safe...
I hope you will enjoy the video!
