Bio

My life goal is to become the best version of myself—mentally, spiritually, and emotionally—while building a legacy rooted in healing, purpose, and generational wealth. I’m passionate about hematology and the impact healthcare can have on underserved communities, especially those who’ve experienced hardship like my own. Helping others, advocating for equity, and using my voice to inspire change is what drives me. I believe I’m a great candidate because I’ve turned adversity into ambition. From experiencing homelessness to leading on the track, in classrooms, and in service, I’ve consistently shown resilience, leadership, and commitment to growth. I don’t just dream—I do the work to turn those dreams into reality, and I bring that same energy into everything I pursue.

After my freshman year of high school, my GPA was a 3.5. While that may seem solid on the surface, I knew I had more potential. I was still adjusting to the pace and pressure of high school life, balancing academics with sports, extracurriculars, and personal challenges. Now, as a senior, I’ve earned a 4.0 GPA. That growth represents more than academic improvement—it reflects the strength I’ve built through adversity and the mindset I’ve developed to overcome obstacles. One of the most significant challenges I faced during high school was navigating through personal and family instability. In 2019, my family experienced homelessness following the divorce of my mother and stepfather. They had co-owned a trucking company that collapsed with the separation, leaving my mother to rebuild from the ground up. Watching her struggle to provide for us while maintaining her own composure pushed me to grow up quickly. It was difficult to focus on school when I was unsure where I’d be sleeping that week, or when I was trying to study in a noisy living space that wasn’t my own. Still, I never wanted my circumstances to define me. I started leaning into my education as a form of stability and self-empowerment. I implemented time management strategies like using planners and setting weekly academic goals. I became more intentional about seeking help—whether it was staying after class to ask questions, attending tutoring sessions, or simply opening up to teachers about what I was going through. Coping with stress and pressure became just as important as completing homework. I found peace and grounding in my faith, turning to prayer and scripture when I felt overwhelmed. I also used journaling to process emotions and track progress in both my academic and personal life. These small but consistent habits helped me stay focused and mentally strong. My participation in sports also played a huge role in shaping my discipline and resilience. As a track and tennis athlete, I learned how to push through mental and physical fatigue, how to stay committed to long-term goals, and how to turn setbacks into motivation. Those same lessons applied directly to my academic journey. Whether it was preparing for exams or maintaining my GPA during a tough season, sports taught me to show up and give my best every day. Raising my GPA from a 3.5 to a 4.0 wasn’t just about mastering schoolwork—it was about mastering myself. I learned how to prioritize, how to adapt, and how to believe in my ability to rise above hard situations. Now, with a 4.0 GPA, I’m not only proud of the academic record I’ve built but also the perseverance and growth that came with it. I’ll carry these skills with me into college and beyond, determined to continue breaking cycles and building a meaningful, purpose-driven life.
