My name is Arianna Amezquita, and I’ve always been drawn to the world of nursing, particularly the realm of labor and delivery. My fascination with nursing stemmed from a deeply personal experience that happened to my family. As a young child, I lost one of my family members due to complications during her labor and delivery. The pain of my family left a mark on my mind. This has made an impact on my life and motivated me to make a difference in the aspect of healthcare. Throughout my high school years, I have dedicated and have been preparing for a future in nursing. I’ve taken medical art classes, honing my skills in human anatomy and understanding the intricate process of childbirth. This last summer, I got the opportunity to participate in a nursing camp which deepened and asserted my passion for nursing. During this experience, I got the opportunity to shadow nurses and to see a C-section firsthand. After the baby was initially born I got to hands-on give the baby its first initial test. This piqued my interest and eventually, I started to volunteer at my local hospital. After this, my dedication and enthusiasm for nursing were evident in every aspect of my life. My family unfortunately has limited financial resources, and pursuing a college education is going to be an uphill challenge. My family will always support my dreams, but this is a great financial burden. Not only will this scholarship help me pursue my dreams by guaranteeing me a ticket to my dream career; it will be a great financial relief. Also, with the support of this scholarship, I am not only assured of a brighter academic future, but I am confident that I can leave a lasting impact on the medical field. My aspiration is not only to become a dedicated and passionate nurse but also to play a crucial role in educating expectant mothers, ensuring their journey through labor and delivery is as smooth and stress-free as possible, and ultimately making a profound impact on the world. In conclusion, this scholarship will not only give my family and financial relief but also guarantee me a step closer to achieving my dream of becoming a nurse. In doing so, my ultimate goal is to honor my family and the great loss we experienced. With this, I hope to make a significant impact on the lives of mothers and babies, ensuring they have healthy and safe deliveries.
