      Advocating for Mental Health Equity: A Journey of Passion, Purpose, and Impact As a first-generation Latin-American student from a low-income background, my journey toward a career in psychology has been deeply rooted in my passion for making a positive impact on the world around me. As an Latina American student hailing from a low-income background, my journey to pursue a career in psychology has been shaped by a deep-seated passion. My identity and experiences have shaped my aspirations and continue to guide my path forward, fueling my dedication to do more for myself and my family. Growing up in an underserved community, I witnessed the profound impact of limited access to mental health resources and the pervasive stigma surrounding mental illness. These experiences ignited my passion for psychology and instilled in me a fervent desire to address these disparities and advocate for those in need.
