I would say the number one person who has always supported me from the beginning is my mom. My parents got divorced when I was very young so I don't really have good memories of my parents together. My dad has never really been in the picture much because we have never really gotten along too well. I've always tried to keep a somewhat decent relationship with him because he is my father but it can be difficult at times. When I started school she was going back to college to work in the medical field as a surgical assistant. So then my life consisted of seeing my grandparents a lot and going to and from school. As I got older my mom was very strict with me about my education. The minute I got home we would sit down and do homework before anything else and that's how it always was. Doing that taught me to do these things on my own and advanced me to higher classes in middle school. All of that work she did to teach me to not put it off has allowed me to advance my studies by a whole year and now I'm graduating early. With my mom being a single mom and not receiving child support at the time it made me realize that I needed to be responsible and if I had something I wanted to do I had to figure it out. My mom wasn't going to always supply me with money unless it was something I needed. So at the age of 14, I got my first job. Doing so taught me a lot of responsibility. You have to work hard for what you earn and things aren't cheap when you see them coming out of your own pocket. All the things she has done for me has taught me a lot of lessons. She helped me grow up to be independent and not rely on someone for my needs. You are your own person and you have to take care of yourself. I would never be where I was today if it wasn't for her and I thank her for that. So therefore, her hard work allowed me to become a successful student in my studies and taught me so many things along the way. From the very beginning, it was always me and my mom and that's the way it will always be.

I will passionately make a positive impact on the world and touch the lives of other people by simply taking the stress away from their lives of worrying about what is wrong with their fuzzy friends. After I receive my high school diploma, I will go on to a four year college to receive my bachelor's degree in biology with a pre-professional medical concentration. After the completion of my bachelor's degree, I will move on to veterinary school. After the completion of veterinary school and having a good stable job for a period of time, I would like to possibly return to my studies and receive my master's degree. I have always had a love for all types of animals big and small and have also always had a passion for helping others in need, so why not combine the two to do what I have always loved? Stressing about whether your pet is sick or injured when you have no way of communicating with them about what is wrong or how they are feeling can be heartbreaking and stressful. When you focus on your animal's health it is kinda hard to think about anything else in your life or get anything else done. I have lost pets due to sickness which was not caught early enough and injuries that they could not come back from and it is not the easiest thing to go through. Knowing what is wrong with a sick or injured animal and possible ways to fix these issues can be relieving. One of my current dogs has a tumor in her stomach that pushes on her bladder which affects how frequently she has to urinate. We caught it early on so now she takes medications to help with the pain and help her relax. When it all first happened she changed a lot and got sick we didn't know what was going on or how to help her, it was scary. Now that she's on medications and we know that she will be okay is very relieving. Helping people can be heartwarming. Now in the specific job field I have chosen, I am aware it is not all sunshines and rainbows but changing the life of one person can really make a difference for you and them. If someone is down about something it is hard to focus on what needs to be done. If I can help people with their fuzzy friends it is sure to make at least the littlest bit of difference in their life. In the end, the help I give will pour into their life and the relief they get can help them focus on what they need to do and in the end it will help them with their success.
