I'm passionate about understanding the world through the lens of language, culture, and equity. My journey started as a dancer, where I learned to tell stories through Kuchipudi, a classical Indian art form, which deepened my appreciation for nonverbal communication and cultural heritage. Over the years, this passion evolved into a broader interest in linguistics, anthropology, and healthcare.
One of my life goals is to promote fairness and inclusion in medicine. A personal experience with a delayed diagnosis opened my eyes to how systemic inequities in medical education affect people of color. Volunteering at hospitals further reinforced my commitment to addressing disparities in healthcare access and representation.
As an incoming freshman at Barnard College, I'm excited to pursue interdisciplinary research that combines my interests in language and healthcare to create solutions that make medicine more inclusive and culturally sensitive. I believe my curiosity, resilience, and dedication to uplifting others make me a strong candidate for opportunities to grow and give back.
Ultimately, I hope to make a lasting impact by contributing to a world where healthcare systems reflect the diversity of the communities they serve, ensuring that everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.
