Growing up in the beginning of the 2000's I was always interested in technology (specifically computers). This is where my passion for my major started, and it was introduced to me by a family member (an uncle). They were the first person in my family to land a major corporation job, and this opened up many opportunities for my family. He showed me the ropes when it came to knowing how to use technology and from there I was hooked. I realized around middle school that I could actually go to school for that and my sights were set on A&M University. I enrolled in stem classes at my high school such as Robotics, and made an effort to advance my education by enrolling in AP classes. I graduated top ten percent of my class surrounded by friends and family that were happy to see me graduate. I was accepted into Texas A&M as a first generation student and qualified for the Regents Scholarship. It helped by releasing a strain on my families finances and allowed me to complete my first year there just this year in May. My passion for technology has not slowed down, and I know I belong in a career that revolves around this passion. I hope to graduate debt free in the year 2025 with my BS in computer science and computer engineering, seeking a job in computer software or IT. Once i've gotten comfortable with my setting and work place. I want to keep advancing my career and eventually branch out and form my own company/non-profit. It would specialize in the conservation of the environment, essentially using my degree to help the environment. Through the workforce I hope to act as a teacher to many more first-gen or immigrant college students. In order to give them the same help and assurance I've received that motivates me to keep advancing in my education (my bachelors). I know it can be intimidating to a person to enter college, so words of encouragement and reassurance would help keep them on track. Along with this, offering resources and help where necessary only feels like the right thing to do as a fellow first-gen student myself. I believe my time as A&M has sort of influenced some of these goals, thanks to the amazing environment I'm in. With that in mind, I hope to succeed in my current education by bringing my grades up through the resources my school offers, and self-teaching of topics I find hard to understand.
