    Healthy Eating Scholarship
My name is Caleb Lucas, and as a future major in computer science, I am passionate about exploring the intersection of technology and healthcare. One area that has always fascinated me is the impact of diet on physical and mental health. I firmly believe that maintaining healthy eating habits is crucial for achieving optimal health and wellbeing. There are a number of reasons why I believe that healthy eating habits are so important. For one, a balanced diet provides the body with the essential nutrients it needs to function properly. When we eat a diet that is high in processed foods and low in whole, nutrient-dense foods, we are depriving our bodies of the vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that are necessary for good health. In addition to providing the body with essential nutrients, a healthy diet can also help to prevent a number of chronic diseases. Studies have shown that eating a diet that is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean proteins can help to reduce the risk of heart disease, stroke, diabetes, and certain types of cancer. By contrast, a diet that is high in saturated and trans fats, added sugars, and processed foods has been linked to an increased risk of these same diseases. But the benefits of healthy eating go beyond just physical health. I have personally noticed a significant difference in my mental health when I practice healthy eating habits. When I eat a diet that is high in whole foods and low in processed foods, I feel more energized, focused, and alert. I am better able to concentrate on my studies and feel more productive throughout the day. By contrast, when I eat a diet that is high in sugar and processed foods, I notice that my energy levels are more erratic. I may feel a surge of energy after eating a sugary snack, but this is typically followed by a crash that leaves me feeling tired and sluggish. This can have a significant impact on my ability to focus and be productive. Of course, maintaining healthy eating habits is not always easy. We are bombarded with advertisements for unhealthy foods on a daily basis, and fast food restaurants and convenience stores are often the most convenient options when we are short on time. However, I believe that it is possible to make healthy eating a priority with a little bit of planning and preparation. One strategy that has worked well for me is to prepare healthy meals and snacks in advance. I typically spend a few hours on Sunday afternoon cooking and prepping meals for the week ahead. This ensures that I have healthy options available even on days when I am busy or pressed for time. Another strategy that has helped me to maintain healthy eating habits is to find healthy foods that I truly enjoy. For example, I have always loved fresh fruit, so I try to incorporate a variety of fruits into my diet each day. I also enjoy cooking, so I experiment with new healthy recipes to keep things interesting. In conclusion, I believe that maintaining healthy eating habits is crucial for achieving optimal health and wellbeing. By providing the body with essential nutrients and reducing the risk of chronic diseases, a healthy diet can help us to live longer, healthier lives. And by improving our mental health and cognitive function, healthy eating habits can also help us to be more productive and successful in all aspects of our lives.

But more than that, I believe that pursuing academic and career ambitions can help to break down the barriers that often prevent individuals impacted by incarceration from achieving success. By showing that it is possible to overcome the odds and pursue a successful career, I hope to inspire others who may feel trapped by their past to pursue their own ambitions and to see that a brighter future is possible. In the end, the impact of incarceration on my life has been a mixed one. While it has been painful to see the toll that it can take on individuals and communities, it has also motivated me to work harder and to pursue my own ambitions with even greater determination. I am grateful for the opportunities that I have had and for the support of my family and community, and I am committed to using my skills and knowledge to make a positive impact on the world.

I discovered that self-care is an essential part of mental health and that taking care of my physical health is just as important as taking care of my mental health. I began to engage in activities that made me happy, like playing baseball and learning new things. These activities helped me build a strong support system and learn how to communicate better with others. My experience with mental health has also taught me the importance of empathy and understanding. @normandiealise #GenWealth Scholarship
Generational wealth, to me, is the accumulation of financial assets and resources that can be passed down from one generation to another. It is a powerful tool that can help families and communities achieve financial stability, security, and independence for generations to come. As Caleb Lucas, a future major in computer science, I believe that generational wealth is not just about accumulating wealth for myself but also for my family and future generations. In this essay, I will discuss what generational wealth means to me and how I plan to achieve it in the future. Growing up with three sisters in a single-parent household, I have learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and sacrifice. My mother worked long hours to provide for us, and while we may not have had all the luxuries of life, we never went without the necessities. Through her example, I learned the importance of financial literacy and planning for the future. She always encouraged us to save for a rainy day, invest wisely, and live below our means. As I prepare to embark on my career in computer science, I am keenly aware of the opportunities that this field can offer. With the growing demand for skilled professionals in technology, there is an immense potential for financial success. However, I also understand that achieving generational wealth requires more than just earning a high salary. It requires a deliberate and intentional approach to managing finances and investing in assets that can appreciate over time. One of my primary goals is to start investing early in my career. I plan to invest in a diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds, and real estate to maximize returns and minimize risks. By starting early and consistently investing, I can take advantage of the power of compounding, which can significantly increase my net worth over time. Another strategy I plan to use to achieve generational wealth is entrepreneurship. I believe that starting a business is an excellent way to build wealth and create a legacy for future generations. As a computer science major, I am excited about the prospect of developing innovative technology solutions that can solve real-world problems and generate significant returns. I also plan to leverage my baseball skills and love of learning to develop unique business ideas that can set me apart from the competition. Growing up as the only boy among three sisters, I learned to be adaptable and resilient. I also learned to embrace challenges and setbacks as opportunities for growth and development. One such challenge occurred during my junior year of high school, when I faced a significant setback on the baseball field. During a critical game against our biggest rival, I made a costly error that allowed the opposing team to score the winning run. The disappointment and frustration I felt was overwhelming. I had let down my team, my coaches, and myself. I had worked hard all season to improve my fielding, and it felt like all that effort had gone to waste in one crucial moment. But instead of wallowing in self-pity, I decided to turn the setback up to 11. In conclusion, being an American means so much more than just having a passport or a birth certificate. It means embracing our country's values of freedom, democracy, and opportunity, serving our community and country, accepting and celebrating diversity, and striving towards a better future for all.

One problem that many people face is the struggle to maintain a healthy diet. Finding the time to plan and prepare nutritious meals can be problematic for people with hectic schedules, which may increase their dependency on fast food or unhealthy snacks. Meal delivery services have become more and more popular as a means of tackling this problem. If I had the money and resources to create a meal delivery service, here is a detailed plan on how I would go about it. Market Research. The first step would be to conduct market research to determine the demand for this service in a particular area, the target audience, and their dietary preferences. This would help in identifying gaps in the current market, opportunities, and potential competitors. Menu Development, Once we have an understanding of the target audience, we would work with nutritionists to develop a menu of healthy, balanced meals that meet the needs of our customers. This would include vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and other dietary requirements. Ingredient Sourcing, To ensure that the meals are of high quality and nutritional value, we would work with local farmers and suppliers to source fresh, seasonal, and organic ingredients. This would help in supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable farming practices. Meal Preparation, After the ingredients have been sourced, we would hire experienced chefs to prepare the meals in a commercial kitchen. All meals would be cooked to order, ensuring maximum freshness and quality. Delivery, To ensure that the meals are delivered fresh and on time, we would establish a reliable and efficient delivery system. This would include tracking orders, notifying customers of the delivery status, and offering flexible delivery options. Packaging, All meals would be packaged in eco-friendly and reusable containers, which would help in reducing waste and promoting sustainability. Pricing, The meal delivery business would also have competitive and reasonable pricing, allowing it to be sold to a wide range of consumers. Marketing, We would use an assortment of marketing tactics to spread the word about the service, including social media, email campaigns, and collaborations with fitness facilities. Overall, a meal delivery company would end up making it simpler and more accessible to solve the issue of maintaining a well-rounded diet. This service would make healthy eating accessible and doable for busy individuals by providing high-quality, nutrient-dense meals that have been ready to be ordered and delivered to clients' homes and offices.

I became interested in computer science after playing engineering" games such as Burning Sands 2. Also, I have a interest in creating AI that talks, which I like to attribute to when I was younger and thought robots could actually speak and interact with people. I  still want to see the day because I'm interested in systems that mimic biological learning and similar. STEM majors are unarguably beneficial, with numerous practical applications. Today's society is so great because of the achievements of science and technology. They are also founded on truth and reality. In science, one person can be correct while a billion people are incorrect. The person who is correct can conduct experiments to demonstrate his point. Science then adapts to accommodate this new, correct viewpoint, despite the fact that many people thought it was incorrect. In the Humanities, deciding what is right and wrong is essentially a popularity contest. A greater number of STEM majors are now available to society. STEM majors will be in high demand as society progresses to repair and build technological infrastructure.

Math is, in my opinion, the greatest puzzle ever; there is no end, but there is always a solution. Because of its subtlety and elegance. Mathematics comes close to expressing a truth that cannot be expressed in any other way. It's a piece of art. But, unlike any other art form, its relevance to the physical world is astounding. It has the potential to serve as a medium for us to express our worldviews in a concise yet profound manner. A few unassuming-looking equations hold the key to unlocking the universe's properties. It's like having a laboratory on paper. And, as important as it is to the survival of the sciences, mathematics would be beautiful even without such applicability. And, as important as it is to the survival of the sciences, mathematics would be beautiful even without such applicability. Even if all it offers is the results of number theory, I would not abandon it because it has applications in physics. Mathematics is a way of thinking, not just a tool. One that, as a species, we would not have gotten very far without discovering. Even if we could, the world would be a much darker place.
