As a future physician, my contribution to society will be helping individuals and families through the miracles of modern medicine. I am a highly motivated second-year student at the University of Florida studying biology on the pre-med track. I am a UF Presidential Scholar, a student in the Honors program, and I am also earning a minor in Spanish. I hope to study abroad in Spain as well. At UF I am involved in several initiatives that are central to my passions. I am an ambassador on the Fundraising Committee for Medi-Gators, an accessible virtual shadowing program designed for pre-health students at UF. I am the Finance Director for a service organization called Gators for Gainesville, a volunteering group open exclusively to Honors students. Additionally, I am an active member of an organization called Regenegator. Through this club, I aim to earn a research position in regenerative medicine at UF. During high school, I was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar (one of eight in my class) and a member of the Cum Laude Society (Top 10%), graduating with a 4.57 GPA. I served as an elected representative on the student council, founded and served as president of the Medical Advancements Club, and tutored and competed for my school with our math honor society, Mu Alpha Theta. I also served as a delegate in conferences for Harvard Model Congress. If fortunate enough to be selected for a scholarship, I would put the funds directly towards my UF attendance costs so that I can further my education while alleviating some of the financial burdens for my family.
