Hello! Nice to Meet You! My name is Anthony Meng, I use He/they Pronouns and I am a rising senior at Hamline University, majoring in Public Health and Legal Studies. I am a first-generation college student and a child of two Khmer immigrants. As a first-gen student, it has been quite an adventure figuring out higher education on my own. Yet, I realize that I am a trailblazer for my family and that I am not alone in my undergraduate journey. I hope to become a Public Health Lawyer. As a lawyer, I want to advocate for an equitable, inclusive world as well as give back to my community. I strongly believe that advocacy is an exercise of empathy. Therefore, we must practice it daily. Our world has become way more complex, and in all honesty, scary. Yet, I hold the conviction that we can change our world for the better. As a first-generation student and as the oldest child of immigrant parents, I have a lot on my plate. Balancing familial responsibilities with my own academics, work, and extracurricular demands can be challenging--but I always carve out time to move my body by choreographing, or by exploring new parks around the Twin Cities and spending time with dear friends.
