Driven by a passion for legal advocacy and health equity, my interest began in high school through a transformative hospice care volunteer program where I firsthand saw the challenges within the healthcare system and the critical need for patient advocacy and policy reform. Now, as a fourth-year student at UCLA, I am majoring in Political Science with a concentration in political theory and minoring in Chicana/o Studies. My academic background is also complemented by my prior experience in the life sciences, primarily in cellular and human biology, applied mathematics, and laboratory research, all of which have provided me a strong foundation in analytical and scientific methodologies. With this vast combination of experiences and a genuine interest in both healthcare and legislative reform, I intend to pursue a career in health policy in the coming years, either by attending medical school and/or law school, and am committed to addressing healthcare disparities and improving access to medical services for underserved communities.
