Though I am young, I have already learned not to take anything for granted, and this is why I am a freshman in the honor's program at my college and earned sophomore standing after completing my first semester. I made the Dean’s list with a 3.67 GPA my first semester. I was also indoctrinated into the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), which became a powerful way for me to continue to make a difference through volunteering while I am in college. The opportunity for higher education means that I can gain the knowledge, skills and ability to become a child psychiatrist and stand in the gap for children who are facing crisis or dealing with disabilities. I plan to use my education to inspire resilience, reduce anxiety, and foster positive coping mechanisms in youth, one child at time.
