As someone with intensive trauma and severe mental disability as a result, I use art to communicate what verbal language cannot achieve. I use colors and shapes to make my points, instead of words or physical strength. Being a child of Muslim immigrants from India who started with nothing, the world has dished me a difficult journey in advancing my career in something I love to do everyday. Honestly, I would not have it any other way though--due to the setbacks I face, I try to strive above and beyond my peers and make my parents proud. They immigrated to the States to give me and my siblings a better chance at life, and I am incredibly lucky to be graced with the opportunity to chase my dreams. I can only hope the same for future generations of my family. I am diagnosed with: PTSD, Treatment-Resistant Depression, Panic Disorder, Otherwise-Specified Dissociative Disorder, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, and Borderline Personality Disorder. Through art, I channel the load-bearing symptoms into visual depictions. Grief, trauma, instability--I have been through a lot to name, but I believe it's only made me more determined. Essentially, I feel like I have something to prove, having my desire to pursue the arts coupled with the cards I was dealt. I want to help prove that anyone can do anything if they set their mind to a concrete goal and have the intention to achieve it. I am confident in my talent and capabilities to learn something new every day, even if it is something little about myself, not related to animation. I have accumulated millions of views on completed collaborative projects since 2012 on YouTube, and it touches my heart when I hear I helped make someone's childhood or that I inspired them to try animation. If even my words or work can reach one person's soul, all the work and suffering I've gone through will have been worth it. I have attached a piece of work entitled "Agnes" which was meant to encapsulate the feelings of grief and trauma I went through suddenly losing a loved one who believed in my abilities before anyone else. This person believed I would "carry the family" with my work, even if I did start out just drawing silly animals. Now, I try and put a genuine piece of my soul in every work I make, whether it be 2D, 3D, animation, or something else entirely.
