Bio

Hey there, I'm Ann, but most people like to call me Annie. I'm a high school senior going through the pains of the application process. I enjoy binging (and crying over) kdramas, creating new worlds through my creative writing, and simply sitting under the stars, watching them slowly drift across the night sky. I plan to major in Computer Science wherever I decide to go. But I'm also going to be a little curious, and allow myself to experience more things than I did back home. Learning new languages can be challenging, but I plan to meet that challenge as I'll attempt to teach myself both Chinese and Vietnamese, the languages of my parents. I also plan to get involved in clubs and organizations meant for Asian Americans (honestly, the imposter syndrome is very real when you grow up with few connections to your ethnic culture). Still, I've done my best to explore the opportunities around me - I had an internship with an AAPI organization, which helped me feel a little closer to my ethnic side; I worked for my church's media team, tapping into just one outlet of technology and learning all that it had to offer, which gave me insight to the world of streaming and broadcasting; and lastly, working for my parents' business has instilled responsibility and a strong work ethic in me, preparing me for the hardships of life and work. One favorite saying of mine is "Go boldly!" I'm ready to go boldly into the future and understand the world around me, which includes the role that I plan in it. (And to whoever is reading this, I hope you too 'go boldly' in your pursuits.)
