Bio

I am currently a junior at Temple University. I am majoring in Biology, pursuing my bachelor's degree, and hoping to receive my masters in a specialty Physician assistant program. I have a strong passion for Biology because I am very interested in caring for and providing for people and animals' well-being. I also have a strong interest in the anatomy and medical terminology of people. This will be a fantastic career for me. With being a Physician Assistant, I plan to accomplish many things. I would have many responsibilities and opportunities to make a difference in my community. It will allow me to recognize and treat illnesses of all different kinds, assisting people from young to old in my community. Not only will this job provide financially for me and others in the future, but it is a job I will enjoy and be happy with for many years. The biggest challenge I have had to overcome in pursuing my degree is staying motivated. It is not hard to see that College alone is challenging, but for me, and I'm sure many others, a lot comes with it. I've grown sad and disappointed at the difficulty; it has been tough to stay motivated. I constantly think of dropping out or pursuing a less challenging career and often think I need to be more intelligent and determined. But I also have many things that motivate me—first, my family and friends. Additionally, I love the constant thought of knowing I will be thrilled if I continue this path.

I have always had a passion for science and math from a young age. They were my favorite subjects in school and where I excelled the most. I found minor experiments at home, dissecting piglets in High School, and learning the functions of cells to be fun and fascinating. I have a strong passion for Biology because I am very interested in caring for and providing for people and animals' well-being. I also have a strong interest in the anatomy and medical terminology of people. Through my multiple jobs in childcare, teaching swim lessons, and summer camp, I realized that I love to care for people, especially children. Deciding a major in college was not an issue for me. I knew I wanted to major in Biology. As a Biology major, I will be on a career path in the medical field while also being educated on the subject of life and how biology affects the world around us. In addition, I knew I wanted to work with children to be "that" person for them when they came to their routine or not so routine Doctors' appointments. A person that they could trust would have their best interest at heart. Through the past few years, I have been troubled with deciding on a career for myself because numerous options come with a degree in biology: Nurse Practitioner, Veterinarian, Neonatal nurse, and more. After researching multiple career paths that would mesh my love of science and working with children, I have decided to pursue a career as a Pediatric Physician's Assistant. I hope to do great things in this role, such as research and development, creating and managing treatment plans, and performing life-changing procedures while continuously learning and elevating alongside other great healthcare workers. I would have many responsibilities and opportunities to make a difference in my community. It will allow me to recognize and treat illnesses of all different kinds, assisting people from young to old in my community. I will be hands-on and interact with my patients, examining and diagnosing them. This career allows me to use my knowledge and passion to help others. This career will further ensure that I can provide an excellent standard of living for myself and my family. Not only will this job provide financially for me and others in the future, but it is a job I will enjoy and be happy with for many years. Obtaining this scholarship will help ensure that I can complete my degree on time, without the financial concerns that would push me to a decision to focus more on employment to support myself than my education to achieve my goal. Becoming a Pediatric Physician's Assistant will require my full attention as this career path takes dedication to knowledge and sacrifice of time. This is my time in life to buckle down and focus on my studies with the goal of doing great things with great people. Once I obtain my dream of becoming a Pediatric Physician's Assistant, I plan to pay it forward via financial, inspirational, and educational contributions to others who are dedicated to doing great things with great people. At some point in our lives, we all need the assistance of great people. Winning this scholarship will constantly remind me of what I'm striving for and what I hope to become. This career I aspire to achieve will allow me to use my knowledge and passion to help others. This scholarship ensures more of a chance to do so. Thank you for your consideration.

I am an upcoming junior at Temple University. I have always had a passion for science and math from a young age. They were my favorite subjects in school and where I excelled the most. I have a strong passion for Biology because I am very interested in caring for and providing for people and animals' well-being. I also have a strong interest in the anatomy and medical terminology of people. Through my multiple jobs in childcare, teaching swim lessons, and summer camp, I realized that I love caring for people, especially children. Science is literally in my blood. My grandfather was a Biology major at Cheyney University and eventually went on to have a career as a Respiratory Therapist. At an early age, I remember my mother and I visiting him at the Hospital he worked at. Doctors, Nurses, etc., busily moving through the halls to different patients, conducting laboratory tests, or delivering meals to a famished mother who had a special delivery. At the same Hospital were my well-check pediatric appointments. These visits gave me an in-depth look at hospital staff's roles in pediatric patient care. Being able to help calm a nervous child, soothe a crying baby, or prescribe medication to teens suffering from dermatitis highly piqued my interest. I knew this was my environment, but in what capacity? My goal is to be around like-minded people collaborating on innovative healthcare solutions and ideas for a positive outcome for some of the most vulnerable patients. Through the past few years, I have been troubled with deciding on a career for myself because numerous options come with a degree in biology: Nurse Practitioner, Veterinarian, Neonatal nurse, and more. After considering a lot, I know what I want to do. After I graduate, I plan to further my education and receive my Master's degree in a Physician's Assistant speciality. This will be a fantastic career for me. With being a Physician Assistant, I plan to accomplish many things. I would have many responsibilities and opportunities to make a difference in my community. I have had my pet cats for around 6 years. Everyday gets better and better. I took these photographs for my photography class and received A’s on all of my projects. I took these photographs in different settings and used different art elements. I was able to develop my photography skills and received very positive feedback on theses photographs of my two cats. I love my pets and enjoy taking care of them. I even realized while having my pets that I wanted to become a veterinarian. I enjoy the warm affection and kindness of my cats.

I have two cats, Mittens and Friendly. The picture that I am submitting is a picture of my female cat, Friendly. I took this photo for my photography class, for high school. Honestly I was struggling quite a bit. I did not know what to take pictures of for my project. It had to relate to the elements of art. After 4 days and 6 pictures later, I finally got the idea to take a photo of my beautiful cat. I took the photo in many angles until I got the perfect shot. In the end, I received a 100%.
