Hey, my name's Anika! I'm Indian and love the colour blue. My religion, Hinduism, plays a large part in my life and how I lead it.
Forensic science has always sparked my curiosity, mainly because I got involved in the Netflix series NCIS. Abby—the team's forensic scientist—always fascinates me. Throughout the series, she plays a variety of helpful roles and is the primary reason they can solve murders. I have always been interested in books and shows that focus on the complicated processes of analyzing criminal cases. This drive pushed me to learn more about the key functions that forensic science and criminology play in society, which is why I aspire to become a forensic pathologist.

Fallen "Freaks" Scholarship
I've been interested in forensic science for years, mainly after getting hooked on a Netflix series, NCIS. I watch it with my mom, and I'm always fascinated by Abby, the forensic scientist on the team. She is the main reason why they can solve crimes and helps in various ways throughout the series. From a young age, I was always intrigued by crime investigation shows and books that explore the intricacies of solving criminal cases. This passion pushed me to explore the fields of criminology and forensic science further and understand the crucial role they play in society. Crime shows such as this fostered my interest in forensic science and criminology in various ways.
Forensic scientists are essentially solving puzzles, such as piecing together evidence, to solve a crime. The field of forensic science is very dynamic because every case has its unique conditions. As technology advances, new tools and techniques are developed, giving opportunities for learning and growth in the profession. Additionally, the study of criminology allows me to explore the root causes of crime and understand the factors that contribute to criminal behavior and pushes me to explore patterns, investigate evidence
They also make a difference and greatly impact society. By becoming a forensic scientist or contributing to this field in some way, I can help bring justice to the victims as well as closure to their families, and ensure that the guilty are held accountable for their actions, overall creating a safer and more just society. This motivates me further to become part of a team that does just this.
Forensic science holds a unique blend of science, psychology, and justice. It holds a scientific approach to solving crimes by using various forms of observation, such as DNA analysis, fingerprint identification, and ballistics analysis. This field also requires collaboration and communication with professionals from various backgrounds, such as law enforcement, legal experts, and psychologists. Working alongside experts in different fields not only enhances my knowledge and skills but also broadens my perspective and allows me to approach problems from different angles.
In conclusion, my passion for criminology and forensic science stems from a deep curiosity about the complexities of crime, a desire to seek justice, and a commitment to making a positive impact on society. The opportunity to unravel mysteries, support victims, and contribute to a safer world is what makes a career in this field truly exciting for me.
