For the past 12 years, I have walked alongside students with disabilities as a paraprofessional, witnessing the incredible resilience and the formative power of personalized support. While I have loved nurturing these students in the classroom, this extensive experience coupled with my life as a single mother to two boys, one of whom requires an IEP has solidified my determination to step into the role of a certified special education teacher.
