I read books daily.
I am a granddaughter of migrant workers who have a 6th and 8th grade education. My dad was the first in his family to graduate with a high school degree. Both my mom and dad joined the military to serve our country. My goal is to get a job in pathology. I am very passionate about math and anatomy and received an award for the highest average grade in precalculus honors. I also got an award for the highest GPA average in Spanish 2. I currently tutor students in math which is very rewarding as I want them to enjoy the subject as much as I do and learn how to problem solve. After college, I want the opportunity to use the knowledge I obtain about math and pathology to become a significant member of society. In addition to school, I have been volunteering in a soup kitchen for over 4 years. I have learned so much from helping people in my community. I love to make people smile and my favorite way to do that is to perform in chorus recitals and musicals. This is something I would like to continue doing in the future. I have received leadership awards such as Christian Character for sports and a Directors award. I was chosen to be a Junior Marshal for this past year's graduating class due to being in the top 10% of my class. Currently, I am a senior with a 4.0. I would make a good candidate for your scholarship because I am hardworking, determined, and invested in everything I pursue.
