Throughout my educational journey, my sister has been my steadfast supporter, playing a pivotal role in helping me reach my goals, particularly as I pursued my degree at Florida State University. Her support has been nothing short of transformative, guiding me through challenges and celebrating each milestone with me.
Growing up, my sister took on a significant role in my life, stepping up to help raise me while our single mother worked tirelessly to provide for us. Her dedication and selflessness shaped my aspirations and taught me the value of perseverance. She became more than just a sibling; she was my mentor and role model. Her influence and support have been a constant source of motivation, especially as I navigated the complexities of preparing for college.
When the time came to apply to colleges, including Florida State University, my sister’s support became even more crucial. Understanding the financial strain that college applications could impose, she stepped in to assist me both emotionally and financially. She ensured that I could focus on my studies and application process without the added stress of economic concerns. Her financial assistance was a lifeline, allowing me to invest in my future without distraction.
One of the most memorable ways she supported me was through the college application process. She organized and accompanied me on college tours, regardless of how far we had to travel. These visits were not merely logistical but deeply personal experiences that allowed me to explore potential futures and make informed decisions about where I wanted to study. Her dedication to ensuring I had a comprehensive view of my options was invaluable.
In addition to these tours, my sister played a hands-on role in preparing my application materials. She helped me craft a standout resume and refine my personal essays, offering insightful feedback and encouragement. Her assistance was not just about making sure my applications were polished but also about helping me present my story authentically and compellingly.
Beyond the practical aspects of college preparation, my sister provided unwavering emotional support. When I faced moments of doubt or stress, she was there to offer encouragement and remind me of my capabilities. Her belief in me helped me navigate the uncertainties of this journey and stay focused on my goals.
As I continue my studies at Florida State University, pursuing a degree in political science with aspirations of becoming an intellectual property lawyer, I carry with me the lessons and strength my sister has imparted. Her sacrifices and dedication have not only helped me achieve my academic goals but have also inspired me to give back to my community and strive for excellence in all I do. Her support has been the bedrock of my success, and I am deeply grateful for her unwavering commitment to my future.

Growing up with my mom as a single parent, I learned the true meaning of resilience and determination. Her tireless efforts to provide for us despite limited resources taught me the value of perseverance and hard work. Her sacrifices and unwavering commitment have inspired me to overcome challenges and strive for success in every aspect of my life.
These experiences have fueled my ambition to become an intellectual property lawyer. I am dedicated to using my education to advocate for and protect the rights of individuals, especially those from underserved communities. I believe in the power of the law to create positive change, and I am committed to leveraging my background to make a meaningful impact.
In addition to my academic pursuits, I actively engage in volunteer work to support my community. I participate in the Health Information Project (HIP), where I help educate people my age about the risks and realities of drug use. By spreading awareness and providing valuable information, I aim to empower my peers to make informed decisions and lead healthier lives. I also volunteer with Achieve Miami, where I assist young children in developing their reading skills. These experiences have deepened my understanding of the challenges faced by underserved communities and reinforced my commitment to giving back.
As I work towards my degree in political science and a future career in intellectual property law, I am dedicated to using my personal experiences and volunteer work to drive positive change. My goal is to protect the rights of individuals, advocate for equitable opportunities, and continue supporting my community in meaningful ways.
