Hi, I'm Angelina! I am a low-income and first generation woman of color. I am ethnically Armenian and was raised by refugee parents who immersed me completely in our culture. My differences once brought me shame, but my college journey completely shifted my perspective. I now find extreme pride in my culture, history, unique outlook, language skills, and everything that comes with being an Armenian! I am pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Sociology at the University of Washington and have hopes of attending graduate school. I was recently accepted into the undergraduate research program at the University of Washington, where I will be conducting independent research. Throughout my college journey I’ve gained volunteer and internship experiences in politics, legislative advocacy, community organizing, and leadership. I've worked on legislation regarding mental health, college equity, immigration, environmental justice, and tax reform. I plan on pursuing law school and am also exploring PhD programs. I am interested in a career in public service. I'm passionate about helping create more equity in historically marginalized communities through policy, innovation, education, and empathy. One of my greatest personal interests is travel. This interest ignited after traveling to my home country of Armenia for the first time in 2017. I also had the opportunity to study supply chain management in Vietnam in 2019. I value expanding my cultural competency, and I believe that travel is a tool for being a forever learner.
