Hi, my name is Angelina, and I am a senior at Enloe High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'm fascinated by science and the natural world, with a particular passion for birds!
I love challenging myself with the most rigorous courses available at my school and by pursuing STEM through several competition clubs. I have earned national awards in Envirothon, Science Olympiad, and Science Bowl. Whether trying to distinguish between coyotes and grey foxes with my Envirothon team or leading buzzing practices as a Science Bowl captain, I deeply value collaboration and learning with my teammates.
Community service is also a meaningful part of my life. As an executive board member of Key Club, I organize and volunteer at local service events, including elementary school festivals and cancer remembrance events. I also make tutoring accessible to underserved students worldwide through Schoolhouse, a free online education platform. In both of these organizations, I have grown from an active participant into a leader who runs events and mentors newer members.
In my free time, I can be found planning the next Bird Club meeting or relaxing with my many hobbies. I enjoy drawing birds, learning crochet, practicing badminton, playing my favorite piano covers, and teaching my two pet parakeets how to sing.

Research
Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology
Independent research project. Achieved 2nd place at NC Science and Engineering Fair — Student Researcher: I programmed a Java reinforcement learning model to predict hierarchies of feeder bird species, using citizen science data and modified Bradley-Terry and Elo-rating methods. The model achieved accurate results with less input.2024 – 2025Ecology, Evolution, Systematics, and Population Biology
North Carolina Young Scientist Society — Student Researcher: I collected and analyzed interactions between my backyard's feeder birds by using chi-square and logistic regression, finding how a bird's body mass affects its displacement success.2024 – 2024
