As a first generation American I have been handed a load of expectations. These stem from how I live my life, the way I present myself, and the goals in which I should achieve, but all these standards define me and I would not want to trade it for any other life. My name is Angela Vitale, and I am a first generation American. Both my parents migrated to the Untied States in their teenage years. My mom being from El Salvador and my dad being from Italy. I was their first born, which also set more expectations. I have learned to live with pressure and expection as I should set a standard for how I want to live my life. As a kid I thought it was a pain to be a role model for being a first generation American, but it shaped me into the person I want to be. Being hard working, crucial, organized is only a few words which can describe the expectations. It's been instilled in me and now I carry these traits which can define me. What started out as being "we want a perfect score" has turned into "I want to get a perfect score". I have worked hours on end the same way my parents did to raise me. I'm working non stop to achieve my dreams to make myself proud of how far I have come. My dreams are to be a movie director or producer. I want to be able to produce something out of this world. Every day and night I'm working on new projects or brainstorming to keep the momentum up. If I want to succeed the only way to get there is to put the time in and that is what I am trying to do. Trying to get to my goal one step at a time, learning one small thing at a time. My attitude on life was the cause of being a first generation American. Someone who I am proud to be.

I am also Co-founder of Teenlancers, a small company that strives to support and engage with the local community and help small businesses structure their social media with proper graphics. Aside from that, I am a filmmaker in the making, and I am looking for new opportunities to strengthen my skills and knowledge. Before I was a filmmaker I grew up around photography thinking that was going to be my future. However, soon enough a picture was not enough to capture the stories I wanted to tell. That is when I found comfort in film and fell in love with storytelling. Since then, it has been my mission to learn from different opportunities present to me.
