I took a break from school to be with my dad when he was sick from cancer. I was so scared to start back up, so I just worked. In the back of my mind, I wanted to finish what I started. Then boom, my mom passes away and I instantly think I have no one to make proud of. I know this time around I am doing this for myself and when I look in the mirror and tell that little black girl she is beautiful I also remind her that she is worth fighting for and making herself proud.
