I’m a high school senior who finds creativity in both color and connection. I’ve been studying art for several years and recently completed a pre-college program at the Rhode Island School of Design, where I deepened my interest in visual storytelling and design. I’m passionate about exploring how art can communicate ideas, emotions, and purpose beyond words.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy mentoring younger students, volunteering through my school’s Buddy Program, and participating in community art projects. These experiences have taught me that creativity has real impact—it can inspire confidence, bridge differences, and bring people together.
My goal is to major in Graphic Design and eventually work in creative communications or user experience (UX) design, creating visuals that make people feel understood and connected. I’m driven by curiosity, empathy, and the belief that good design can change the way people see the world.

Art has always been the way I express myself and understand the world around me. While some people communicate best through speaking or writing, I communicate through drawing, painting, and design. Art allows me to tell stories, share ideas, and express emotions in a way that words sometimes cannot. Because of this, I have decided to pursue art and graphic design for my education and future career.
Throughout high school, I have learned that success comes from discipline, patience, and consistency. Whether it was working on a detailed drawing, preparing for exams, or preparing for track, I learned that improvement takes time and effort. Nothing improves overnight, and the only way to get better is to keep showing up and keep working. These experiences helped me develop a strong work ethic and taught me how to manage my time and stay committed to my goals.
I want to pursue art and design not only because I enjoy creating, but because I believe design can help people. Design is everywhere—in books, websites, classrooms, and public spaces. Good design can make learning easier, information clearer, and communication more effective. In the future, I hope to use my education to create educational materials, visual guides, and community resources that help people learn and understand information more easily.
I am especially interested in using design to help schools, community programs, and organizations that work with children and families. Many people learn visually, and well-designed materials can make a big difference in how someone understands information. I want to create work that is not only visually appealing but also useful and meaningful to others.
This scholarship would help me continue my education and focus on developing my skills in art and design. College is a big financial commitment, and as I'm attending a top art school, any support would help reduce that burden and allow me to focus more on learning, improving my skills, and preparing for my future career. Receiving this scholarship would also motivate me to continue working hard and making the most of my education.
My goal is not just to graduate and get a job, but to use my education to create meaningful work that helps people, supports education, and contributes something positive to the world. I believe art and design have the power to communicate ideas, bring people together, and make information more accessible to everyone. That is why I chose this field of study and what I hope to do with my education.

Art has always been the way I understand the world and communicate with others. I am a quiet person, by nature, but through painting and drawing, I am able to express thoughts, emotions, and ideas that I sometimes cannot put into words. Because of this, I have chosen to pursue art and design for my education and future career. Although knowing this career path may be judged or not be a financially stable choice, I trust my happiness overall. However, my goal is not only to create art for myself, but to use my education to help others, support communities, and make information and opportunities more accessible through art.
I believe art and design are powerful tools that can improve people’s lives. Design is everywhere—in books, websites, classrooms, public spaces, and educational materials. Good design can make learning easier, information clearer, and experiences more enjoyable. I hope to use my education to create visual guides, and community resources that help people learn, understand, and feel included. I am especially interested in creating materials for schools, community programs, and organizations that support children and families.
One area where I hope to make an impact is accessibility. Many people, including children and individuals with learning differences or disabilities, benefit from visual learning. Clear diagrams, illustrated instructions, and well-designed materials can make a huge difference in how someone understands information. With my education in art and design, I hope to create visual learning tools, books, and educational resources that help people learn in different ways and feel more confident in school and in life.
I also hope to use art to bring people together. Art can communicate across language, culture, and background. It can tell stories, share experiences, and help people feel seen and understood. Whether through illustration or art projects, I want my work to have meaning and purpose beyond just looking nice. I want my work to help people, support education, and contribute something positive to the world.
I chose this field of study because art has always been the subject that I felt most passionate about and the one where I felt I could truly be myself. When I am creating art, I am patient, focused, and motivated to improve. I am excited to continue learning ways to communicate visually through my education with the world.
In the future, I hope to build a career in graphic design or visual communication where I can combine creativity with problem-solving and community impact. My education will allow me to develop the skills needed to create meaningful work that helps others, supports education, and improves communication through design. That is why I have chosen this field of study and what I hope to do with my education.
