Bio

My name comes from my uncle whom I never met and passed shortly before I was born. He passed away while working at a blue-collar job in a work-related accident. With much of my background and family being filled with hard-working people who never got to finish or even go to college, I am inclined to work even harder to reach a goal that would mean so much to me and equally as much to my family. Throughout my entire life and my pursuit toward college, I have learned many things and I have partaken in many activities and hobbies. In high school, I have done things ranging from creating detailed art projects to designing multiple buildings through my architecture program. I have challenged myself by taking hard classes such as Advanced Placement Courses. I have even achieved success and dealt with various forms of adversity including having to heal from a surgical procedure on my leg in my sophomore year of high school. To achieve my goal, I know that I have to work when I don't want to or when I am unable to, I know that I must keep pushing, I know that I have to remember that my family has worked hard and never gave up on me. What reason do I have to give up? I have always believed that fortune favors those who are bold enough to chase their dreams and goals with reason behind it. I also want to take advantage of the freedom and opportunities I possess to work to my full potential along with the help from those that I am grateful to have. I also believe that triumph and success are the rewards of exertion.

I walk through paths where hope is spoken Where hope is counted in whispered prayers, The first-generation flame Carrying my family's unspoken dare. Is it rare to get to walk across the stage? No tassel, no cap tossed? My mother's college year, a page Half-written, paused by life’s despair. In a household where every dollar counted, Where futures were suspended by threads so fine I saw my parents working and worrying, And felt the weight of what had never been. My brother and I, the torchbearers Both at UNLV, pioneering new ground, Each textbook, each sleepless night A promise that we would not be an example. Yet the journey has not been easy. Neither the road straight nor gentle. I bear loads, visible and invisible. Heavy on body, heavier on the mind. In the hallways of high school, My spirit was sluggish and tired. A body that weighed forty pounds less Of silent struggle, uninspired. But one day, I looked into the mirror, And saw no weakness, but a spark A subtle shift to alter my narrative To chase the sunrise from the dark. So I changed my mindset and faced the dawn, Daily, sweat and perseverance were born. A strict diet, a plan laid out, An everyday struggle of the mind and body. The scale shifted day after day, pound by pound. But with every loss, I discovered a gain of Discipline, patience, and determination. The understanding that hard work overcomes suffering. Some days, progress seemed invisible, The finishing line impossibly distant, But I discovered that greatness doesn't come instantly. That each scar can be a star. With each step, I was more sure That time and effort forge destiny That mountains move one stone at a time That persistence opens the gate, not luck. This lesson went beyond. Into classrooms, books, and new dreams. For college is a quest And law school waits beyond the horizon. I chose finance and law. A map to find my way through the maze, Yet my guiding star is law, Where justice shines and hope ablaze. I dream of courts and cases. Of speaking for those who are voiceless. A corporate attorney, the first of many Who is truthful in word and deed. For I have witnessed how choices make empires How structures, businesses, and individuals Shape the future, not the past. My high school achievements It showed me to build success To be humble, but to achieve more To allow innovation to lead the way. That law can guide people to a place Where growth and justice meet. But first and foremost, I wish to be The evidence that dreams do not always disappear That with plenty of determination and heart, There's nothing we can't do. My biggest success is not just weight lost, Not grades or pounds or honors gained It's knowing now that I am strong That every trial is a lesson learned. So let me be the proof you seek, That dreams survive on work and time Patience creates a leap, A legacy can rise, and climb. For each "no" that life has said, For each door that remained locked fast, We are the key, the unbroken hope The one who rises, claims the right. And when I pass that last stage, In gown and cap and with family near, I'll know my journey was the story Of hope, of grit, of sincere dreams.
