I am a first-generation college student currently pursuing a nursing degree with a focus on the pediatric population. I am a Junior in my BSN program. Raised in a low-income, single-parent household, I’ve faced significant financial and social barriers on my path to higher education. Despite these challenges, I’ve remained committed to my academic and professional goals. Throughout nursing school, I have actively engaged in leadership and service, currently serving as Treasurer of the Student Nurses' Association of Portland (SNAP) and Secretary of the Oregon Student Nurses’ Association (OSNA) for the 2025–2026 academic year. I also represented Oregon as a delegate at the 2025 National Student Nurses’ Association (NSNA) Convention. These roles have allowed me to champion student wellness, advocate for healthcare equity, and volunteer at events such as job fairs, health equity fairs, and community walks. My passion for nursing is rooted in a desire to serve underserved populations, especially children and adolescents, and to bring empathy, equity, and advocacy into every patient interaction. I plan to continue giving back to my community through both clinical work and volunteerism, and I’m deeply grateful for any support that helps make this journey possible.
