Andrew He is a Junior @ Los Osos High School, located in Rancho Cucamonga, California, part of the Chaffey Joint Union High School District.
He serves as President and Co-Founder of his school's Science National Honor Society chapter, Community Service and Scholarship Chair of the California Scholarship Federation, and Concertmaster and First Violin Section Leader of the Ontario Youth Symphony Orchestra. A first-generation student of Chinese heritage fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, Andrew is passionate about bioengineering research, community leadership, and using his platform to uplift underserved communities across Southern California. As a result, he is deeply embedded in STEM outreach and service, most notably as Outreach Lead for FIRST Tech Challenge Team Iconic 21868, whose regional efforts reach roughly 5,000 people monthly, and as Division Service Projects and Events Coordinator for Key Club, overseeing 425-plus members and 6,300 service hours across six high schools.
His academic drive earned him a 4.7 weighted GPA, a spot in the top 10% of his class, gold recognition at SIMSEF, and a state qualifier berth at the California Science and Engineering Fair, all while maintaining a perfect 4.0 through dual enrollment at Chaffey College. Looking ahead currently as an incoming Junior, Andrew is a current Public Health Researcher @ UCLA, where he hopes to translate his passion for science and service into lasting impact on the communities that need it most.

Dream career goals:
Having grown up in rural northern Nevada before relocating to California for high school, my long-term career goal is to become a physician-scientist specializing in bioengineering and public health, conducting research that makes quality healthcare more accessible to the underserved communities I have witnessed firsthand. I plan to begin pursuing that path through public health research opportunities at leading universities, where I hope to unite scientific inquiry and community service into a single, lasting mission.
