Many students wonder when they will ever use calculus outside of a classroom. Before learning more about technology and business, I asked myself the same question. As I became interested in entrepreneurship, artificial intelligence, and website development, I realized that calculus is much more than a math class; it is a way of thinking that allows people to solve complex problems, make predictions, and create innovations that improve our world. Like many first-time entrepreneurs, I expected customers to come quickly. Instead, I experienced long stretches where business was slow, and most of my clients were friends or family. It was frustrating to put in hours of work creating flyers, building social media pages, and improving my services without seeing immediate results. There were moments when I questioned whether I was on the right path. Rather than giving up, I chose to adapt. I even invested money into learning these skills at a time when I had very little to spare.
