I found TXT pre debut in 2019 as BigHit began to announce a new boy group as their senior brother group, BTS, began to completely dominate the Western music world. A friend and I, who were in high school at the time, stumbled upon the member reveals and instantly began to await for their debut. I believe the most important characteristic of a MOA is the value of community. MOAs have always been one of the most welcoming fandoms to be a part of due to their sense of community and wanting to give everyone the sense of belonging. I have felt that way with almost every single MOA no matter the environment. Whether that environment be a safe space like a kpop store, concert, or even online through social media to a space where KPOP is sometimes seen as a joke or mockery like school, family, and sometimes even close friends. My TXT bias is Beomgyu! Like most MOA, my bias has changed over the years. However, Beomgyu is not only bias but my ult bias in general. He holds so many qualities that I admire. He is so true to himself and I appreciate how authentic he is. He is a Pisces and I am a Virgo, so astrologically he is my sister sign and it makes sense on why I can resonate with him so much. My favorite TXT song is Blue Orangeade. It is the first song on TXT’s Debut album, and the first song I ever heard of TXT when they released their debut album. It is the perfect song to begin their career as it sounds amazing and the lyrics resonate so much to my life since I was a teenager. I’ve been so lucky to been able to see TXT every time they’ve visited texas all thanks to MOA on twitter who have sold their tickets for reduced prices. The picture I provided is actually from their very first concert at the Dallas stop, and it is the only form of media that I have from that day so I feel so lucky to have something to be able to remind me of such a special day. My favorite album concept has been love language. Their concept gives me such a sense of familiarity and I’m biased due to ot5 having dark hair! I currently rely on financial aid, and unfortunately I was not given enough financial aid for the school year. This scholarship will assist me in continuing my education in behavioral analysis, and I would like to continue working with bilingual children to assist them and their families to grow, learn, and develop skills that will promote independence and contribute towards their societies in a positive manner. TXT has influenced me to continue to spread love and joy in a world that sometimes feel like is burning into the ground as the days go by. Their music provides a mix of nostalgia and motivation to my everyday life, and I couldn’t imagine my life today without them and their music.
