I envision using my accounting education to create a positive impact in the business world by helping people and organizations make better decisions, stay honest, and grow in a healthy way. For me, accounting is not just about numbers or spreadsheets. It is about responsibility, trust, and using knowledge to help others succeed. My background in leadership, sports, music, and community work has taught me that strong systems and good planning are what keep teams and organizations moving forward, and accounting plays a big role in that. As a student at Concordia, I have learned how important accuracy and integrity are in financial work. When financial information is correct, leaders can plan wisely, control costs, and avoid problems. I want to be the kind of accountant people can depend on — someone who pays attention to details, follows ethical standards, and communicates clearly. Whether I am working with a company, a nonprofit, or a small business, my goal is to bring honesty and structure into their financial operations so they can focus on their mission and growth. My personal experiences also shape how I want to use my accounting skills. Being involved in church leadership, choir, and community projects has shown me how difficult it can be for organizations to manage money without proper systems. I have seen how budgets, fundraising, and financial planning directly affect whether a program succeeds or struggles. This motivates me to use my education to support community-based organizations so they can serve people better and stay sustainable long-term. Sports has also influenced how I approach business and accounting. Playing soccer has taught me discipline, teamwork, and accountability. Just like in a team, every player has a role, and every mistake affects the whole group. In accounting, accuracy and responsibility matter the same way. I want to bring that mindset into the workplace by being dependable, organized, and committed to excellence. Another personal goal of mine is to grow as a leader who can explain financial information in a way that makes sense to everyone. Many people feel intimidated by numbers and financial reports. I want to help bridge that gap by making accounting simple, clear, and useful for decision-making. This helps businesses avoid confusion and make confident choices. Ultimately, I want my career in accounting to reflect my values; integrity, service, growth, and impact. I hope to build a career where I not only succeed professionally but also contribute positively to the people and communities around me. By using my accounting education responsibly and purposefully, I believe I can help create businesses that are strong, ethical, and focused on making a difference.
