I plan to major in engineering while continuing to study in art. Combining these two studies presents a unique opportunity for me to explore how engineering and art principles can work together simultaneously to enhance each other through design and innovation. My goal is to create projects that seamlessly merge both disciplines to address community needs, such as sustainable architecture or public art installations with functional purposes. Also, I am inspired to educate the community about the responsibilities of engineers in developing solutions that prioritize sustainability. I aim to explore innovative ways in which these disciplines can enhance one another.
I'm also excited to pursue a major in business management, because it will allow me to engage with the community in meaningful ways. I believe that by blending my skills in business with a passion for community involvement, I can positively impact and contribute to the growth and development. Pursuing a major in business management will provide me with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of managing a successful organization., which will equip me with an academic foundation and the practical skills necessary to tackle real-world business challenges effectively. Also engaging with experienced faculty and collaborating with fellow students will enhance my learning experience, preparing me for a dynamic career in the ever-evolving business world.
Ultimately, my goal is to understand how these initiatives can positively impact the lives of individuals while inspiring collective action toward a more sustainable future.
From a very young age, I fell in love with a sport that is typically dominated by tall people. What was I thinking? At the time, I found basketball to be not just a game, but a source of joy and fun. My family and friends enjoyed playing it too. However, I only realized the challenges I faced when I noticed I was shorter than most of the other boys and girls who played the game. Although I don’t believe basketball was designed exclusively for tall individuals, they do have several advantages, such as being closer to the basket for scoring and having a better chance of grabbing rebounds when the ball is at its highest point. Their height also gives them an edge in blocking shots from shorter players.
At some point during my journey, I grasped what my mentors—parents, teachers, and coaches—had always told me about the importance of hard work. I understood that genetically, I had a slim chance of growing taller, and there were no proven strategies to increase height. So ultimately, I accepted my identity as a shorter basketball player. Through unwavering dedication and hard work, I was able to use my experiences in basketball to learn valuable life lessons and use my knowledge and skills as advantages, rather than focusing on the unlikely possibility of becoming taller than six feet.
The advantages I gained as a basketball player began when I committed to developing qualities like leadership, self-motivation, hard work, dedication, responsibility, and a commitment to daily improvement. This concept of continuous improvement—KAIZEN!—taught me patience and the importance of trusting the process. I learned to approach my development in a gradual and methodical way as I transitioned into adulthood.
Change is inevitable, and I have learned to embrace it. Through basketball, the various changes in coaches, teams, circuits, roles, and positions taught me to be flexible, humble, persevering, and committed. My success on the court hinged on my physical skills, mental attitude, and mindset. I cultivated a strong belief in myself as I overcame self-doubt and fears, which allowed me to tap into my full potential.
Basketball has also taught me the importance of being a team player. Collaborating with my teammates instilled in me the values of trust and reliance on others. While there are many lessons to glean from playing basketball, the most significant is the lesson of teamwork. The principles of cooperation, working towards a common goal, mutual respect, and support are applicable in every area of my life.

One of the key areas in my life that I recognize needs improvement is my ability to take calculated risks. I fam reluctant and hesitant when it comes to stepping outside my comfort zone, especially when it involves potential losing money. The fear of losing money has held me back from pursuing opportunities that could lead to growth and success because I have to ask my mother for the money that we really don't have to lose. While pursuing business endeavors, I have came across fraudulent people, which makes me even more apprehensive to take risks. I understand that every risk carries some level of uncertainty, but being able to assess and manage these risks effectively is crucial for personal and professional development. Learning to evaluate situations more strategically and embracing the possibility of loss as a part of the journey is something I aspire to work on.

My brother identifies and is apart of the LGBTQIA community. Throughout his educational journey, I have observed the numerous challenges he has faced in school and in life. Some challenges include social acceptance, confronting discrimination, and gender boundaries such as participating on a all girls dance team. His experiences have revealed the complexities encountered by individuals in the LGBTQIA community in schools, neighbrohoods and family. This has sparked a passion for activism in both him and me.
It is important to me to speak up and encourage all people to pursue their dreams and to explore career options that align with their core values. My brother has inspired me to be myself and to pursue my passion for me playing basketball to my advantage. I plan to use my love for basketball to secure a scholarship for college, where I hope to study engineering, finance, art, or education. Additionally, I aim to develop community projects that reflect my passion and values.
Witnessing my brother encounter bullying for simply being different was a challenging experience for me. I had a hard time processing this all of this information thoroughly. I remember the pain in his eyes and the weight of isolation he felt as he judged for expressing his true self. These moments awaken a sense of empathy and urgency within me to stand up against such injustices. My brothers struggles pushed me to engage in activism because I was motivated by the desire to create a more inclusive world where no one feels alienated for their identity. I realized that bullying based on differences, whether related to sexuality, gender identity, or cultural background, was far too common and needed to be addressed. Moving forward, I became more dedicated to advocating for LGBTQIA+ community and anti-bullying initiatives and promoting acceptance within my community. I also started to educate myself on issues related to the LGBTQIA+ community, learning more about their history, challenges, and the diversity of people within the community. This exposure to bullying and these experiences has led me to develop a focus on culturalism in activism because it is important to celebrate our differences rather than allowing them divide us. I hope to contribute to a world where everyone, regardless of their identity, can feel safe and valued.
I plan to go to college to major in business management, engineering, education, art and/or finance, with the goal of contributing to a business environment and community service projects that are inclusive and supportive of all individuals. I believe it is crucial to create spaces where everyone feels welcome and valued
Additionally, I want to challenge the stereotypes often associated with student-athletes fitting otsa memebers into a particular group that is assumed to be non LGBTQIA+. In reality, many members of the LGBTQIA+ community actively participate in sports, demonstrating that athleticism and diverse identities can coexist. By highlighting these experiences, I hope to foster a more inclusive culture in both sports and the broader business world.s.

My goal is to create projects that seamlessly merge both disciplines to address community needs, such as sustainable architecture or public art installations with functional purposes.
Also, I am inspired to educate the community about the responsibilities of engineers in developing solutions that prioritize sustainability. I am very interested in initiating community projects about renewable energy technologies and green building practices. I will emphasize the importance of incorporating community feedback into engineering projects to ensure they are relevant and beneficial leading to a positively impacted communities. I want to understand how these project initiatives meet practical needs while also building social cohesion and pride within the community.
I am excited to pursue a dual major in engineering and art, a combination that presents a remarkable opportunity to delve into the intricate relationship between these two fields. By intertwining the principles of engineering and artistic design, I aim to explore innovative ways in which these disciplines can enhance one another. My hope is to create multifaceted projects that not only showcase beauty but also serve essential functions for the community—such as designing sustainable architecture that harmonizes with its environment or crafting public art installations that provide tangible benefits. Additionally, I am highly motivated to educate the community about the crucial role engineers play in developing solutions that prioritize sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Ultimately, my goal is to understand how these initiatives can positively impact the lives of individuals while inspiring collective action toward a more sustainable future.
I'm also excited to pursue a major in business management, because it will allow me to engage with the community in meaningful ways. At a very young age, I fell in love with a sport that tall people dominate. What was I thinking? At the time, I thought basketball was fun to play, and my family and friends enjoyed playing it. Therefore, it only crossed my mind once I realized I was shorter than most boys and girls who played and dominated the sport. Even though I don't believe basketball was designed for tall people, taller people have many advantages, such as being closer to the basket to score. Closer to the rebound, when the ball is in the air at its highest point, they have a better chance of blocking a shorter player's shots due to their taller stature. At some point on my journey, I understood what my parent-teacher-coach-mentors always told me about working hard. Genetically, I had a slim chance of being tall, and there were no proven strategies to make a person grow taller, so ultimately, I accepted that I would be a short-statured basketball player. Through my unwavering dedication and hard work, I was able to use basketball to learn about life and use my knowledge and skills as an advantage instead of relying on the long-shot chance of being taller than 6 feet.
The advantages I have as a basketball player were when I adopted the journey to develop leadership, self-motivation, hard work, dedication, responsibility, and commitment to improving every day. KAIZEN!! I have learned patience and trust in the process of applying all of my developments as advantages to see improvements in productivity as a gradual and methodical process in my life to adulthood.
Change is inevitable, so I have learned how to embrace it. With basketball, changes in coaches, teams, circuits, roles, positions, and more have taught me how to be flexible, humbled, persevering, and committed. My success on the court depended on my physical skills, mental attitude, and mindset. I cultivated a strong belief in myself because I knew I overcame self-doubt and fears, which allowed me to tap into my full potential. Playing basketball has also taught me how to be a team player. Working collaboratively with my teammates taught me to trust and rely on them. There are many lessons to be learned from playing basketball, but the lesson that basketball has taught me the most is about teamwork. Teamwork can be applied in all areas of my life because I had to learn about cooperation, working together to the same end, mutual respect, and mutual support in achieving shared goals.
For as long as I can remember, basketball has played a big role in my life. It has helped me become the person that I am today. It will help me continue to build and develop my character in college and in life. I will continue to use sports to make positive difference in the world. Majoring in engineering will allow me to help the sport evolve with technology and new ways of developing skills, majoring in medicine will allow me to research and explore new ways athletes can train and recover their bodies every season, and majoring on finance will allow me to manage my business endeavors.

I am committed to being a life-long learner because I enjoy learning new things about the world I live in today and the world of tomorrow. I am a player, team captain and team leader on the varsity basketball team at my school. I have used this sports platform to develop leadership skills, discipline, communication skills, flexibility and many more skills that I can apply to any faucet of my life. I currently live with my mom and she has sacrificed to put me in a very expensive private school. I understand the purpose of her decision to put me in a private Christian school, so I am grateful, appreciative, and forever blessed. I will continue to put forth my greatest efforts to excel on and off the courts to show my appreciation. I will also maintain an acceptable academic and behavioral record so that I can develop a more positive reputation allowing me to find the support needed to help me pay for private school. I want to go to college and major in engineering, but I am open to other fields of study related to health, computer science, and financing. Currently, I am working to open my own business. I am currently applying my graphic art skills and knowledge to help brand my future business endeavor with a unique logo and designs that represent and align with my company's business plan. My company will help underserved youth that are athletes to be motivated to go hard in the classrooms and in whatever sport they participate in without money being a major factor in discouraging their pursuit of happiness. As an athlete, we, unfortunately, encounter minor and major injuries, but we never take the time to rehab properly. My business mission is to offer a high quality and elite level of sports training, affordable for everyone, along with transcending muscle recovery services, academic support and mental health services in one location. We are dedicated to preparing and developing well-rounded and grounded student-athletes to improve their athletic skills as well as their quality of life. My vision for my company is to be the leader in quality, innovative and affordable training, development and recovery services to all athletes regardless of their socioeconomic status, as well as creating a space for entrepreneurs (training, tutorials, counseling, etc.) to be successful. My ultimate goal is to continue to be a young scholar in love with learning who can utilize all resources to maximize my learning and success potential to ultimately be able to help others in need like myself.
