My name is Ana Segura, I am a freshman at Blinn College, and my dream is to become a licensed veterinarian with my own business. Now am attending Blinn College with a major in agriculture, but in the fall of 2023 hopefully, I will be transferring to Texas A&M University to follow my dream to become a licensed veterinarian. Ever since I was little, I had a huge heart for animals, big and small. My dream is to have my own animal clinic for all typed of animals. Animals have been part of me ever since I can remember. I remember wanting to bring home any dog or cat I found in the streets or trying to cure an injured animal I found. I attended a high school called Chavez High School in Houston Tx. In high school, I was on a career path called animal science. In this program, we studied the anatomy of animals and different type of infections and how to cure them. In this program, we would be able to get out vet assistant certificate by taking a test and completing volunteer hours at the shelter following alongside a vet. I believe I completed a bit over 100 hrs. after completing the hours we were able to take the exam and I passed the exam and was able to get my corticate as a vet assistant. Let me tell you about my volunteer experience. I was a volunteer at a shelter/clinic called Harris County Pets in Houston Tx. I was following a vet technician and learning about the different medications and what was done at the shelter. Around a month later the supervisor pulled me aside and offered me a job as a vet assistant and I agreed with a huge smile. It had always been my dream to work with animals I knew this was just the beginning of my dream career. I had to quit in august because I would be moving away for college and let me tell you that it was extremely upsetting. Although I had to quit it didn’t stop me from studying and following my dreams. I honestly wasn’t going to go to college due to financial situations, but after my parents and boyfriend convinced me I decided to come and every day I woke up and think “I got this! I will accomplish my dream to help all types of animals I need.” My dream is to open my own animal clinic/shelter for all types of animals because there are a lot of clinics exclusively for dogs and cats and there isn’t much for all types such as farm animals or wild animals. I want to create many shelters all over the world to help all types of animals in need. In my shelter, there are going to be many benefits. Some of the benefits are that it’s going to be low cost, and there are going to be volunteer opportunities and dates where children can interact with the animals. Another benefit that will come alongside my clinic/shelter is that we are going to have mobile clinic buses. The clinic buses are going to be for anyone who can’t reach the clinic or doesn’t have access to a car. I want that my clinic/shelter to be accessible for everyone for their pets to have the care they need. I hope you take me into consideration for this scholarship and help me financially to pursue my dream to become a vet and help all animals in need.

Ever since I was a young girl, I was always so passionate about animals. I also fell in love with traveling and discovering new cultures. I want to travel the world, and the same time give care to the animals who have no homes and need medical attention. I believe animals don't get the care they need, and I want to change that. Animals all around the world deserve the care and stability they deserve, because well they are roaming this earth as well. I want to add animal food bins where homeless animals are able to eat and stay hydrated. I want to build homes around the world for animals who have no home to sleep in especially during winter season. I want to give medical attention to animals who are sick and no place to get care. Animals become a part of peoples heart, but they can't afford medical care and I want to change that and help them with a low-cost animal medical clinic and a low-cost groomer. I also want to build housings and food and water bins for homeless animals could have shelter and food and water. Believe it or not many animals end up eating molded food or things that could hurt their digestive system, and no one knows. No matter what is going on with the animal they have feelings too and they know the care they need. Many animals have really bad problems that is need to be treated with medical health. I want to change the life of animals and help people understand that animals also need medical care, as well as animals who live on the streets. I want to make the world a better place for animals to have the freedom of roaming the earth safely.
