Ana Sofia Aguilar-Arias is a multi-disciplinary Colombian artist based in Dallas, Texas. She works with a variety of mediums such as oil paints, photography, photoshop, and other mixed media. Illustration is her current focus, but she loves story-telling and documenting her artistic journey. Her inspiration when creating art mostly comes from her family and culture. She loves her Colombian heritage and finds beauty in the vibrant colors in Colombian traditions, clothes, and architecture. Ana Sofia takes pride and inspiration from her family members and the culture that unifies them. With aspirations to be an illustrator, Ana Sofia seeks to create a deeper connection with her roots through her art in hopes of simultaneously sharing the gorgeous aspects of her culture with the rest of the world. This fall, she will be in her second year at ArtCenter College of Design, majoring in illustration.
