Bio

Sri-Lankan born myasthenic math nerd. Hi, I’m a lot more approachable than I look. My facial muscles aren’t that expressive due to a neuromuscular disease, Myasthenia Gravis. More about me besides that: I’m studying electrical/computer engineering. As a very hands-on learner, I enjoy learning and applying new material outside class. Had a rough shortcoming the past two years due to a rare autoimmune neuromuscular disease. What helped me persist was my will to learn. I had self-studied a lot of material due to my immobility at the time. With my education, I’d like to help engineer new medical technology to help neuromuscular diseases be more recognizable. I’m also planning on teaching/tutoring shortly to help spark the will to learn in others as well. Especially in engineering, computer science, and mathematics which many are scared of when there’s so much fun you can have! Had some rough bumps along my educational journey due to my condition, so I’m trying my best to score some financial assistance to help with fees. I plan on going into an innovative engineering industry career while doing research work on the side; coming across or creating new things never tires me. Out of work hours, I’d like to help develop better support systems and assistance programs for chronically ill youth and others who are significantly affected by rare incurable diseases as well. I like to crochet and play puzzle games to clear my head in my free time. I’m practicing 3D modeling as well, leisurely.
