Bridging Data and Legacy: My Vision for Commercial Real Estate Excellence
My path in commercial real estate is driven by a deep-seated commitment to transforming market intelligence, capital markets, and property analytics. As a licensed REALTOR®, Notary Public, and the founder of Arrie Realty Group, my core professional focus centers on commercial real estate underwriting, financial modeling, and rigorous competitive industry research. My inspiration to specialize in this highly technical domain stems from a vision to modernize property valuation and investment strategies. By bridging traditional real estate fundamentals with advanced property technology, Python-based real estate analytics, and artificial intelligence data models, I aim to reshape how institutional real estate decisions are made and optimize asset performance across diverse portfolios.
Throughout my professional journey, I have consistently sought out rigorous training and hands-on environments to sharpen my technical acumen. Engaging with specialized industry accelerators like Project Destined has allowed me to dive deep into construction management and commercial mortgage-backed securities, translating theoretical concepts into actionable, market-driven insights. However, the rapidly evolving landscape of commercial real estate demands continuous advancement, particularly in quantitative analysis and complex financial evaluation.
Achieving my long-term career goals requires advanced academic preparation and mastery of industry-standard analytical tools. As a first generation undergraduate, I recently completed my Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from Georgia State University. I am thrilled to be taking the next major step in my professional trajectory by advancing my education in the Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate program. Building upon my foundational knowledge and hands-on experiences, my professional roadmap includes mastering ARGUS software for cash flow forecasting, earning the prestigious CCIM designation to validate my expertise in financial and market analysis, and actively pursuing my PMP® credential to lead sophisticated commercial developments and investments with precision.
Receiving this scholarship would provide invaluable financial support, alleviating tuition and certification expenses so that I can maintain an absolute focus on academic excellence, high-level financial modeling, and innovative research. Balancing rigorous graduate studies alongside professional commitments requires dedication, yet my determination to excel in this field remains unwavering.
Beyond technical proficiency and market analytics, my entire drive is anchored in a profound personal legacy. The most influential person in my life is my grandmother, Arrie Latimer, whose unwavering resilience, grace, and tireless work ethic laid the bedrock for my personal and professional ethos. It is in direct tribute to her legacy that I named my real estate firm Arrie Realty Group. She profoundly shaped my views on education, teaching me that knowledge is not merely a personal achievement but an essential instrument for community upliftment and generational wealth building. Her life demonstrated that monumental obstacles can be overcome with discipline, faith, and purpose.
Guided by her enduring example, my long-term goals are centered on creating lasting economic impact, fostering equitable opportunities within the built environment, and honoring her memory through a lifelong pursuit of excellence. By combining advanced commercial real estate education, strategic financial modeling, and commitment to community empowerment, I am fully prepared to make a meaningful and lasting contribution to the industry.

Building a Legacy of Empowerment: My Vision for Community-Centric Real Estate
When I consider what I want to build, my vision centers on establishing a community-focused real estate enterprise that redefines how property acquisition and development serve local neighborhoods. Rather than viewing real estate purely through a transactional lens, I aim to construct an ecosystem that actively empowers under-resourced communities, prevents displacement, and creates long-term generational wealth.
My journey into this field is deeply personal. Having navigated the complexities of property markets and higher education, I have seen firsthand how systemic barriers and a lack of financial literacy prevent families from taking part in real estate ownership. Property is often the single greatest vehicle for economic mobility, yet many neighborhoods are left vulnerable to predatory practices or lack the guidance needed to build sustainable assets. I realized that my academic training and professional pursuits in real estate are not meant solely for individual success; they are tools designed to be shared.
To bring this vision to life, I am building a multi-layered platform centered on accessible real estate education, ethical consulting, and community wealth-building initiatives. Professionally, this involves using advanced market analytics, financial modeling, and structured development strategies to find revitalization opportunities that benefit existing residents rather than displacing them. Personally, I am committed to hosting financial literacy workshops, teaching first-time homebuyers the mechanics of property acquisition, and guiding local families through the nuances of credit, mortgages, and asset management.
Building this enterprise requires deliberate, sustained execution. Over the coming years, I plan to scale these educational workshops into a structured community incubator that partners with local organizations and municipal programs. By equipping everyday people with the knowledge of how real estate functions, from zoning and construction fundamentals to commercial investment strategies, can help shift power back into the hands of community members. Real estate should act as an anchor, not a barrier.
Ultimately, the impact of this business will extend far beyond individual transactions. For my community, it means fostering resilient neighborhoods where families own their homes, build equity, and retain control over their community's economic future. For me, it fulfills the core motivation behind my career: using the power of specialized education and industry expertise to elevate an entire region. Through ambition, drive, and targeted community impact, I am ready to build a real estate business that transforms lives and creates enduring opportunities.

Ultimately, the life of my dreams is a continuous journey rather than a static endpoint. It is an existence defined by growth, courage, and an unrelenting commitment to excellence. By earning my graduate degree while working full-time today, I am actively laying the steppingstones toward this future. Ethel Hayes Destigmatization of Mental Health Scholarship
Navigating Resilience: How Family Experience with Mental Health Shapes Goals, Relationships, and Worldview
Life with multiple family members suffering from different forms of mental illness has taught me profound lessons about human resilience, empathy, and perspective. Growing up in an environment where mental health challenges were part of our daily reality required me to look beyond surface-level interactions and deeply research how different conditions affect behavior, daily living, and cognitive perception. I learned early on that life moves in cycles: good days are filled with light, progress, and shared laughter, while other days bring heavy challenges that require patience, adaptation, and unwavering support. Through it all, I have maintained an unshakeable optimism about the future, viewing every hurdle not as a permanent roadblock, but as an opportunity for growth and deeper understanding.
My intimate experience with mental health has directly shaped my personal and professional goals, driving my ambition to create stability, structure, and positive impact. Witnessing the unpredictable nature of mental illness instilled in me a deep-rooted drive to build financial security and organizational systems that can withstand uncertainty. Professionally, this has translated into a rigorous pursuit of excellence in my career as an entrepreneur and real estate professional, where structured planning, risk management, and meticulous attention to detail are paramount. Furthermore, these experiences have fueled a long-term goal to mentor others, advocate for mental health awareness, and foster supportive communities where individuals facing similar struggles feel understood rather than isolated.
Relationships form the bedrock of how we experience the world, and my interpersonal connections have been profoundly enriched by my family background. Navigating the diverse manifestations of mental illness taught me the vital importance of active listening, emotional intelligence, and radical empathy. I have learned to meet people where they are, offering patience during difficult moments and celebrating victories, no matter how small, on the good days. This dynamic has cultivated deep bonds built on trust and resilience with friends and family alike. It has also taught me how to establish healthy boundaries while remaining a pillar of reliable support, ensuring that compassion guides every interaction.
Ultimately, my worldview is defined by an enduring optimism and a holistic understanding of human complexity. Rather than viewing the world through a lens of limitation, my background has taught me to see infinite potential in adaptation and healing. I recognize that everyone is fighting battles invisible to the naked eye, which fosters a universal kindness in how I approach society. Because I have witnessed firsthand that dark days eventually give way to brighter ones, I approach the future with steadfast hope and confidence. This resilient outlook empowers me to pursue my ambitions with clarity, knowing that compassion, preparation, and an optimistic heart can transform challenges into enduring strength.
Joe Gilroy "Plan Your Work, Work Your Plan" Scholarship
Navigating the Future of Commercial Real Estate: Goals, Strategy, and Impact
As an entrepreneur, licensed real estate professional, and founder of Arrie Realty Group based in Georgia, my primary professional goal is to become a leading innovator and authority in commercial real estate by seamlessly integrating advanced financial modeling, property technology, and data analytics. Building upon my undergraduate degree from Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business, my long-term career vision focuses on merging traditional brokerage operations with sophisticated quantitative analysis and sustainable real estate development. This journey is deeply personal, as my firm is named in honor of my grandmother, Arrie Latimer, whose enduring legacy inspires my daily dedication to excellence, community impact, and professional growth in the property sector.
To turn this ambitious vision into reality, I have outlined a structured, multi-step plan with clear, time-sensitive milestones. Having already completed foundational coursework in real estate development and investment in May 2025, along with specialized industry milestones including the Construction Management Fundamentals Program in May 2026 and the Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities (CMBS) Program through Project Destined in July 2026, my next major academic milestone is beginning the Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate program at Georgia State University in August 2026. Alongside my graduate studies, my professional roadmap includes mastering industry-standard software like ARGUS and earning my prestigious Certified Commercial Investment Member designation to deepen my technical expertise and market authority.
Executing this comprehensive growth plan requires careful budgeting, resource allocation, and proactive financial planning to ensure all angles of success are covered. The financial investment for this upcoming phase covers graduate tuition, specialized software training, and advanced PropTech tools. To support these endeavors, the estimated budget encompasses approximately fifteen hundred dollars for specialized certification resources and technical materials, alongside graduate program tuition and fees. These expenses will be strategically funded through a mix of revenue generated by my firm, professional consulting activities, and targeted scholarship opportunities, such as the one associated with this application, which will directly alleviate the financial burden of my educational advancement and provide critical momentum for my business and academic journey.
Every ambitious plan inevitably comes with potential challenges, such as balancing rigorous graduate coursework with running a real estate consulting firm, managing hyper-local market farming strategies in communities like Hapeville and College Park, Georgia, and staying ahead of shifting economic indicators in the broader property market. To navigate these hurdles effectively, I rely on disciplined time management frameworks, modular project timelines, and modern technological integrations that streamline my daily operations and client advisory services. By anticipating these operational variables and maintaining contingency plans, I ensure that my momentum remains uninterrupted regardless of market fluctuations.
Ultimately, success for me means successfully completing my advanced graduate credentials, expanding the analytical and advisory capabilities of my firm, and continuing to deliver high-level, data-driven solutions to my clients. By combining hands-on industry experience as a licensed REALTOR® and notary public with rigorous academic training and financial discipline, I am fully prepared to make a lasting, positive impact on the commercial real estate landscape in Georgia and beyond.
A Grandmother's Love Single Mom Scholarship
Balancing higher education with the demands of single motherhood is a high-stakes juggling act where time, energy, and resources are constantly stretched to their absolute limits. As highlighted in image.png, the dual responsibilities of academic pursuit and parenting create a unique set of hardships. For a single mother, the path to a degree is rarely just about intellectual growth; it is an exhausting, daily test of resilience defined by a severe lack of time, heavy financial strain, and persistent emotional guilt. Having successfully navigated these immense hurdles to graduate in December 2025 with my Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Real Estate, I am preparing to face them anew as I transition to the next phase of my academic journey and begin my Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate this Fall.
The most pervasive challenge of this journey is chronic time poverty and the breakdown of work-life balance. Dividing a single day between rigorous coursework, maintaining employment to keep the household afloat, and being an active, present parent means that personal well-being is often the first thing sacrificed. Throughout my undergraduate studies, my academic "school day" typically began late at night, long after my child had gone to sleep. Operating under perpetual sleep deprivation became the norm as I studied into the early hours of the morning, a reality I know will only intensify with graduate-level seminars and advanced research. This demanding schedule breeds a constant internal conflict. When I am focusing on advanced real estate analytics, property valuation models, or market reports, I feel guilty for not spending quality time with my children. Conversely, when I am focused entirely on parenting, the anxiety of impending academic deadlines and career-defining project submissions looms large, creating a cycle of stress that requires immense mental fortitude to manage.
Beyond the heavy emotional toll, the logistical and financial hurdles of single-parent education are entirely unforgiving. Unlike traditional students who may only have to manage their own schedules, a student-parent's academic success is inextricably linked to external support systems. While my children are teenagers and no longer require childcare, every hour dedicated to a graduate lecture, corporate networking event, or group project still demands careful coordination of our household schedule and limits my availability to support them through their own academic and extracurricular milestones. If my children fall ill, my entire academic week risks collapsing, creating a domino effect that impacts my grades, my group members, and my employment. Furthermore, managing the costs of specialized graduate tuition, textbooks, professional attire, and daily living expenses on a single income leaves absolutely zero margin for error. The financial strain is a constant weight, requiring meticulous budgeting and personal sacrifice just to stay enrolled and ensure my childrens’ immediate needs are met.
Despite these intense hardships, the decision to advance my education from a BBA to a Master of Science is fueled by a profound, unshakeable purpose. Every late-night study session, every moment of exhaustion, and every financial sacrifice is a direct investment in my family's future stability. The commercial real estate industry offers a viable pathway to true economic independence, allowing me to break generational financial barriers and build a secure, lasting legacy for my children. Ultimately, these severe hardships do not define my limitations; instead, they serve as the foundation of a relentless work ethic that proves to my children that perseverance can overcome even the most daunting obstacles. This degree is not just a personal milestone, but a shared victory for our family.
Organic Formula Shop Single Parent Scholarship
To be both a dedicated student and a single mother to three children is to live in a state of perpetual motion, where time is the most precious commodity and emotional resilience is an everyday requirement. The intersection of these two roles creates a unique set of challenges that transcend simple time management. It is a profound balancing act of presence, learning how to give entirely of oneself to the intellectual rigor of advanced higher education while ensuring that three developing minds and hearts feel completely secure, loved, and supported.
The greatest hurdle in this journey is the constant negotiation of cognitive and emotional bandwidth. Higher education, particularly at the graduate level, demands deep, uninterrupted focus, rigorous analytical thinking, and hours of solitary study. Conversely, parenting three children requires immediate responsiveness, active emotional availability, and a continuous management of household stability. When these two worlds collide, the primary challenge becomes managing the division of presence. It means reading complex academic case studies while sitting at the kitchen table helping with elementary school homework, or outlining structural market analyses late into the night after the last child has been tucked into bed.
This delicate equilibrium is further tested when unexpected hardships strike the family unit. Navigating the profound grief of recent family loss while maintaining the academic stamina required for graduate-level performance introduces a layer of emotional complexity that few environments prepare you for. In these moments, the challenge isn’t merely about finding hours in the day; it is about cultivating the internal fortitude to process grief, buffer your children from the weight of that loss, and still show up to the academic arena with clarity and ambition. Balancing a rigorous curriculum with the daily realities of raising a family means operating on an incredibly thin margin. When there is no secondary income or co-parent to share the physical and emotional load, the pressure to succeed is amplified exponentially. Financial stress ceases to be a minor background noise and instead becomes a systemic threat that can compromise the mental focus necessary to achieve true academic excellence.
This is precisely where the Organic Formula Shop Single Parent Scholarship becomes a transformative force rather than just a financial supplement. By easing the immediate, heavy burden of tuition and educational expenses, this scholarship acts as a structural bridge over the financial gaps that so often disrupt the educational paths of non-traditional students. Financial security in higher education directly translates to time security. When the pressure of funding tuition is alleviated, the hours that would otherwise be spent worrying about balancing budgets, managing student accounts, or taking on extra external obligations can be directly reinvested into what matters most: academic mastery and family well-being.
With this scholarship bridging the critical financial gap, the entire dynamic of our household changes. It allows me to channel my energy into academic excellence, engaging deeply with the curriculum, participating in advanced real estate research, and building professional networks without the looming shadow of financial survival. Furthermore, it directly impacts my children. A parent who is less stressed about financial survival is a parent who can be more emotionally present, attentive, and engaged at home. This investment does more than just pay for credits; it buys peace of mind, stabilizes a household, and ensures that my academic pursuits enrich our family life rather than strain it.
Looking beyond the immediate horizon of graduation, this scholarship is a vital investment in a long-term, sustainable future. My ultimate goal is to build a high-impact career in commercial real estate, a field where data-driven strategy, market analysis, and wealth-management principles can be leveraged to create tangible assets and long-term economic value. Achieving an advanced degree in this sector is not just a personal milestone; it is the engine that will drive a sophisticated business practice designed to create economic mobility and financial literacy.
By mastering commercial real estate, I am positioning myself to build a career focused on long-term asset performance, wealth creation, and community development. This specialized knowledge allows me to transition from standard transactional business to a consultative, wealth-management approach. The future I am paving involves building an enterprise that not only secures our family’s financial independence but also serves as a pillar of strength in the community. It allows me to establish a professional legacy that honors the entrepreneurial spirit and values passed down through my family, transforming personal aspirations into a structured, generational business.
Perhaps the most critical dimension of this journey is the living blueprint it provides for my three children. Children do not merely learn from what we tell them; they absorb who we are and how we respond to the world around us. By pursuing a demanding graduate degree as a single parent, I am providing my children with a daily, firsthand masterclass in resilience, discipline, and ambition. They see the dedication required to build a career from the ground up, the sacrifice necessary to achieve long-term goals, and the courage it takes to pursue higher education in the face of profound personal adversity.
When my children watch me study, attend lectures, and successfully navigate the complexities of a commercial real estate program, they are learning that adversity is not a barrier to success, but a crucible that refines purpose. They learn that a family's circumstances do not dictate their ultimate destination. This scholarship helps me prove to them that with unwavering focus, structural support, and relentless effort, it is entirely possible to reshape your reality.
Ultimately, the true value of this scholarship lies in its compounding effect. It invests in a mother, who in turn invests that knowledge and stability into three children, who will grow up seeing education and professional excellence as achievable standards. It empowers me to build a high-impact career that ensures our family moves forward from a place of stability and strength. This scholarship is the catalyst that helps turn the challenging, chaotic reality of the present into a structured, prosperous, and inspiring future for both myself and my children.
Jerrye Chesnes Memorial Scholarship
Returning to school as a non-traditional student is a deliberate choice to rewrite one’s future, but it comes with a complex set of challenges that traditional students rarely have to navigate. When I made the decision to return to higher education years after my 2006 high school graduation, I knew the path would require a complete reconfiguration of my daily life. The primary challenge has been mastering the delicate, high-stakes balancing act between rigorous academic demands, a full-time professional career, and major family responsibilities.
As a mother of three children, my time is never entirely my own. Returning to school meant learning to manage late-night study sessions and group projects around school schedules, family dinner tables, and parental duties. Concurrently, maintaining my active professional practice as a licensed REALTOR®, Insurance Agent, and Notary Public required unwavering discipline. I could not simply pause my career or my duties to my clients; instead, I had to learn to integrate my education directly into my life, treating my 14 years of industry experience not as a distraction, but as a real-world lab for my studies.
While managing time, finances, and energy was already a heavy burden, the greatest challenge I faced occurred very recently. In May of 2026, just as I was finalizing my preparations to transition into graduate-level studies, my significant other passed away. This profound personal loss completely upended our household’s emotional and financial stability overnight. Navigating intense grief while stepping into the role of a single anchor for my three children has been the most emotionally taxing obstacle I have ever encountered. In the wake of such a tragedy, continuing my education felt incredibly daunting.
However, this loss also deepened my resolve. Returning to school is no longer just about personal advancement; it is about securing a stable, prosperous future for my family and modeling resilience for my children. I proved to myself that I could persevere under extreme pressure when I successfully completed my Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Now, as I prepare to enter the Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate program this August, I am channeling my grief into an unyielding drive to succeed.
This scholarship represents more than just financial aid; it serves as a critical bridge during a period of immense personal and economic transition. By easing the financial strain of tuition and school expenses, it will allow me to focus my energy on mastering my upcoming graduate curriculum and supporting my family through our healing process. I am returning to school with a clear sense of purpose, determined to transform personal adversity into professional innovation and a lasting legacy of strength for my children.
Women in STEM Scholarship
To contribute to the STEM field is to embrace a mindset driven by constant curiosity, grounded in knowledge, and focused on practical innovation. For the past 14 years, my professional journey has been deeply rooted in customer experience, insurance, and market analysis within the real estate industry. While real estate is traditionally viewed through a commercial or sales lens, my experience has taught me that the future of this industry lies squarely at the intersection of data science and technology. My desire to bridge this gap is what drives my transition into advanced STEM-focused studies.
My academic foundation began with earning a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from Georgia State University’s J. Mack Robinson College of Business. Balancing my studies with professional responsibilities and raising three children demanded rigorous discipline and an unyielding work ethic. Rather than acting as a barrier, managing these multifaceted responsibilities heightened my problem-solving abilities and sharpened my resolve to pursue higher-level technical expertise. This August, I am taking a definitive step forward by entering the Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate program at Georgia State University to master the quantitative analytical skills necessary for tomorrow's market.
My true passion and curiosity within STEM lie in the integration of Artificial Intelligence and advanced data modeling within the built environment. The commercial real estate sector sits on a wealth of underutilized data. My goal is to leverage AI algorithms and predictive modeling to optimize property valuations, streamline risk assessment, and drive smarter asset management. By mastering these computational tools, I intend to transition from traditional real estate practices to pioneering technology-driven solutions that remove bias, increase efficiency, and uncover hidden economic trends.
Furthermore, being an empowered woman in STEM means using my platform to create tangible, real-world impact. I plan to apply this technical knowledge directly to local community development, creating data-backed strategies that foster sustainable housing and accessible wealth-building opportunities for everyday families. Innovation is empty if it does not serve to uplift, and I am determined to show that advanced data models can be used to solve structural, real-world community challenges.
As a woman entering a space where technology and commercial real estate intersect, I recognize the importance of fostering a collaborative, supportive network. True empowerment comes from breaking down complexities and clearing a path for others to follow. By participating in specialized bridge programs and expanding my analytical horizon, I am actively preparing for the rigorous technical demands of my upcoming graduate curriculum.
This scholarship will provide critical financial support, allowing me to dedicate my energy fully to mastering complex data analytics and AI modeling software during my master's program. By investing in my education, this scholarship empowers a forward-thinking professional to bring a unique perspective into the STEM pipeline, ensuring that the future of real estate technology is driven by curiosity, heart, and a profound commitment to community transformation.
Lia's Legacy Key Scholarship
WinnerReal estate is often discussed in terms of transactions, market analysis, and property valuations. For me, however, it is defined by a deeply personal truth: housing is the fundamental foundation of human stability, security, and dignity. My journey into this field spans over 14 years of collective experience in customer service, real estate, and market analysis. Yet, the driving force behind my career has always been a profound understanding of what it means to lose that foundation.
In May of 2017, following a sudden personal tragedy, my life was completely upended. In an instant, my three children and I became homeless. Navigating the terrifying reality of housing instability as a mother was the most grueling trial of my life. Experiencing firsthand what it means to lose a secure place to call home reshaped my entire worldview. It ignited an unshakeable determination within me to build a career dedicated to housing, ensuring that others never have to navigate the complexities of property and shelter alone.
This lived experience breathed urgent meaning into my academic and professional pursuits. I anchored myself in education to build a vehicle for tangible change, recently graduating with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Real Estate from Georgia State University. Driven to expand my impact from residential stability to larger-scale community development, I have chosen to continue my education as a Master of Science in Commercial Real Estate candidate. With a background in customer strategy and market analysis, I am uniquely equipped to bridge the gap between commercial market viability and human necessity.
However, the true test of my dedication came just recently. In May of 2026, as I was preparing for this next professional chapter, tragedy struck again with the sudden passing of one of my closest friends. Navigating this profound, recent grief while managing my responsibilities as a mother and a professional has been an immense challenge. Yet, instead of letting this heartbreak derail my ambitions, it has solidified my perseverance. Life’s inevitabilities have taught me that true resilience isn't the absence of hardship, but the refusal to let it extinguish your purpose.
Receiving this scholarship would help alleviate the financial pressure of my graduate studies as I navigate this current period of transition and invest in a stable future for my family. More importantly, it is an investment in a professional who understands the market from the inside out and the human value of a home from the ground up. I am choosing a lifelong career in real estate to turn personal survival into a blueprint for community resilience, showing my children, my clients, and my community that perseverance can triumph over any tragedy.
