      Michael Rudometkin Memorial Scholarship
My name is Amiah Gordon, I am an upcoming senior at John Dewey High School, and I am deeply passionate about being in the business industry and becoming an owner of my own business one day. From a young age, I have been fascinated by the leadership of most business owners and the teamwork that happens when having a business that brings people closer together and helps the community. Today I am applying for this scholarship to pursue my dreams of becoming an impact in the world and taking that leadership role to guide many people in the right direction. Throughout high school, my grades were increasing and decreasing, until I had a moment of realization and pushed myself harder and harder each day. My grades went up tremendously and stayed at 80 and above. In high school, my major was business which increased my liking of business and made me want to learn more and take on my own business. We learned all the financial skills to having a business and the leadership role that you have to overcome, and through those sessions, I grew more and more fond of impacting the world through the art of business. Growing up in a self-deprecating neighborhood, I have witnessed the effects of environmental neglect. Our community suffers from unnecessary killings, gun violence & poor community love. These experiences have inspired me to take a step and find a way to get the community what it needs and try to help influence a proper way of treatment in a business. As a black young girl, it is hard to live in a place where everyone is constantly treating each other with hate and discrimination and constantly going against one another. Some resources are hard to find and hard to get because of the color of our skin and I want to help make that so much easier for the community not only the people my color, but the whole world to provide for the people. For example, the businesses I would run to help everyone are stores that consist of cosmetics and that do cosmetology for people who may not know how to do it on their own and or need supplies to do those things. Another thing I would want to do is my own real estate company so I can help provide people with a place to live and hopefully help everyone find their perfect home. I would also like to do my community center so people can come together and learn how to get together make new friends and acquire new skills. In addition to my academic pursuits, during my years of high school, I have learned how to be my boss. I sold cupcakes outside of my school so this helped me practice consistency, money management skills, and how to be a boss of a business. Since I had the practice of running my own business I would like to continue for my lifetime and be a business owner to impact the world. Receiving this scholarship will bring me one step closer to my goal of becoming a business owner who will make a difference in the world. I am committed to using my education to develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges and improve my knowledge of the art of business so I can be skillful in helping the community. Thank you for considering my application. Your support will empower me to make a lasting impact in the field of business.

As a black young girl it his hard to live in a place where everyone is constantly treating each other with hate and discrimination and constantly going against one another. Some resources are hard to find and hard to get because of the color of our skin and I want to help make that so much easier for the community not only the people my color, the whole world to provide for the people. For example the businesses I would run to help everyone is stores that consist of cosmetics and that does cosmetology for the people that may not know how to do it on their own and or need supplies to do those things. Another thing I would want to do is my own real estate company so I can help provide people with a place to live and hopefully help everyone find their perfect home. I would also like to do my own community center so people can come together and learn how to get together and make new friends and acquire new skills. In addition to my academic pursuits, during the years of high school I have learned how to be my own boss. I sold cupcakes in side of my school so this helped me practice consistency, money management skills and how to be a boss of a business. Since I had the practice of running my own business I would like to continue for my lifetime and be a business owner to impact the world. Receiving this scholarship will bring me one step closer to my goal of becoming a business owner that will make a difference in the world. I am committed to using my education to develop innovative solutions to environmental challenges and improve my knowledge on the art of business so I can be skillful and be capable of helping the community. Thank you for considering my application. Your support will empower me to make a lasting impact in the field of business.
      B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. Scholarship
My name is Amiah Gordon, I am an upcoming senior at John Dewey high school, and I am deeply passionate about being in the business industry and becoming an owner of my own business one day. From a young age I have been fascinated by the leadership of most business owners and the teamwork that happens when having a business that brings people closer together and helps the community. Today I am applying for this scholarship to pursue my dreams of becoming an impact in the world and taking that leadership role to guide many people in the right direction. Throughout high school my grades were increasing and decreasing , until i had a moment of realization and pushed myself harder and harder each day. My grades went up tremendously and stayed at a 80 and above. In high school my major was business which increased my liking of business and made me want to learn more and take on my own business. We learned all the financial skills to having a business and the leadership role that you have to overcome, and through those sessions i grew more and more fond of impacting the world through the art of business . Growing up in a self - deprecating neighborhood, i have witnessed the effects of environmental neglect. Our community suffers from unnecessary killings, gun violence & poor community love. These experiences have inspired me to take a step and find a way to get the community what it needs and try to help influence a proper way of treatment in a business.
