Touch is a profound form of communication and connection that significantly impacts emotional well-being and healing. For my son and me, it has been central to our journey of resilience as we navigate the effects of trauma and recovery from PTSD.
After relocating 500 miles from our hometown in 2019 to escape his abusive father, I’ve seen how touch can alleviate anxiety and ease PTSD symptoms, serving as a reminder of love and grounding us in the present. Massage therapy is a wonderful way to reap the physiological benefits of touch, such as releasing tension and reducing stress, which is essential for rebuilding safety in our bodies.
While the healing journey can be challenging, it’s the moments of connection, through touch and shared experiences, that empower us to rebuild our lives. I want my son to understand the healing power of touch, which nurtures relationships and encourages us to embrace life with open hearts.
I lost my car to Hurricane Helene, and have to postpone my schooling until I get funding for transportation or a new car. Please help me follow my dream of helping others! I appreciate your consideration. 2,500 / 10,000
