Currently, I am on Christmas break after my third semester at Northwest Nazarene University. This past semester has been pretty challenging due to COVID19. We have had to adjust the way that we learn in the classroom and we have switched to remote learning more than once. The importance of continuous learning cannot be overstated. Even during the months when we were completely shut down, I used my time to learn new languages and skills. During this time, I am working on learning to be flexible and to learn in any environment. Education is very important to me and I hope I will never stop learning even as I grow older. I am studying accounting at my university and if I receive this grant I will be able to continue to pursue this field. I love how business is so versatile and accounting especially can be used to help any business. Specifically, in the coming years, I would learn about taxes and auditing. These new skills will help me in various ways. When I have learned about taxes I will be able to give back to the community by volunteering my time to help those who can't afford to have their taxes done. Auditing will help me become a well rounded accountant and will prepare me for my career ahead.
